Futuredlighter, not trying to be negative. I just don’t think it’s a particularly good piece of corporate communications, that’s all. It won’t prompt be to sell and I’m also planning to be in for the long haul.

With respect, on Friday alone you stated with complete confidence that Monday is the day and today is the last day at these levels, so you were clearly expecting something of a different nature too. Those sorts of comments don’t exactly help and there are plenty of them.

I agree with much of that ben. I tire of all the “we’ll all be millionaires by Monday afternoon, Rodney” type comments. I guess my point is that if you don’t provide any meaningful content, then it’s human nature for people to fill in the gaps themselves, which is unhelpful when they could just be a little more transparent. If you want your shareholders to trust you then engender that trust. The major shareholders will demand and receive a full debrief, after all.

I think the disappointing thing is that, in its absence of any meaningful information, it doesn’t demonstrate much respect for shareholders. The only thing I can reasonably read into this is that their proposed implementation plan is in some way deficient and they’ve been sent back to get it right.

RMR and Steven P, the key principles for me are two-fold.

The first is liquidity. Retaining cash is a really important part of any portfolio, both to take advantage of foreseeable and unforeseeable opportunities, and of course to ensure one doesn’t have everything tied up. Being locked in without liquidity is painful and frustrating.

The second part is being clear with yourself about whether your outlook with particular share is long-term or short-term. Each is equally valid in my view and personally I adopt both quite deliberately. I think that then helps to guide whether one keeps a close eye on the share price or feels more relaxed about the inevitable ups and downs. It also helps with perspective on further buy-in.

I’m relatively new to SKIN but my outlook here is very long term and I’m not hugely bothered about the prices I top up s long s I don’t feel it’s become hugely overvalued - buying in the dips is nice but not a pre-requisite. For me it’s more about availability of cash (Perhaps from a deliberately short-term gain) and maintaining an acceptable balance within my portfolio.

Apologies if that’s over-simplistic. Just my perspective on a couple of your themes.

@lunsam, yep, thanks and understood. I’m thinking from the perspective of there may be IIs watching from the sidelines keen for a piece of this but their fund/internal rules won’t allow yet at current MC. Thanks again.

Yes good point Chesh but I think Helium would be the exception and in general mutual funds and similar don’t allow...

For my education, does a market cap have to be sustained for a minimum number of successive days before IIs can dip in?

Talking of good fortune, in uncharacteristic good timing 5-bagged in just under four weeks earlier this summer on VLS. The reason I mention it is that I sold 50%of my holding and was switched on to SKIN and MWG by some members here who are also over on VLS. So a double piece of good fortune for which I am grateful.

Hi All,

Just wanted to thank those members here who switched me on to Integumen (SKIN) and Modern Water (MWG) a couple of months ago. There’s sometimes bickering and unpleasantness on chat forums but for me the real value is sharing insight and even sharing suggestions about holdings amongst largely like-minded investors.

No gloating intended, just genuine appreciation. Hope this isn’t the kiss of death for either of those shares!

I realise I’m more of a consumer than a contributor on these boards but it is thoroughly depressing how any difference in interpretation or opinion becomes so immediately adversarial and tribal. It’s like being back at school with the calibre of some contributions, with a few notable and much appreciated exceptions.

For the most part, anybody who diverges from the myopic ‘50p coming, we’ll all be millionaires by Christmas’ view is automatically branded a ‘deramper’ for having the audacity to express an alternative opinion.

FWIW, my position is that I am unsure how to interpret today’s RNS and have mixed feelings but I am willing and able to take the risk and have bought more in today’s dip. It’s a gamble and it may or may not work out. I’ve had plenty which have and more than a few that haven’t. Such is AIM investing.

To the few who are consistently balanced and informative, thank you.

Wild speculation about why a major holder may be selling, which amounts to no more than a guess, is not helpful. More than a whiff of desperation on here sometimes. Unless you're day trading, count the time in weeks and months, not minutes and hours.

You're a real charmer Madgeyboy, you know that? Why can't you respond to people without being so angry and offensive? I assume your 'some of us have been around here a long time' equates to 'I bought in at 5p several years ago and have been stuck in ever since'. Well done you - we'll get you a badge. No wonder you have such anger issues around anything to do with this share.

SmokingDragon, of all the things you could choose to do with the time you have on your hands, you choose to identify a share you don’t like and don’t plan to invest in, find a BB for that share, and then take the trouble to post a negative comment about, calling it a ‘school project’, not for the first time.

Here’s a radical idea. Why don’t you find a share you DO like, find the BB for it, and make a positive contribution. Or do you value your time so little?

Agreed Mr T. None of us should be myopic about it but, putting aside how it’s been handled, this strengthens VLS for the longer term. I think we will be rewarded in the end.
