I am not sure how much effort UET actually put into Africa. I suspect very little other than to support BMN's efforts and based upon the issues associated with setting up the demonstration battery it is not entirely convincing that they are doing much of that either. In the early stages of a relationship, i.e. first sales, you would expect a great deal of support.
I suspect that BMN are doing most of the 'heavy lifting' on developing the operation in Africa. As such, any acquirer of UET would probably be pretty content to allow this to continue, especially if that partner is supplying electrolyte.
I think that we are some time off of this scenario. Whilst we live and breathe Vanadium and VRFBs on this board, the world is only just starting to become aware and the technology is nowhere near as widespread as Lithium ion. Once the technology becomes more widespread the big companies are almost certain to come knocking at the door of UET.
