What IP rights are you referring to? UET hold the IP rights to the VRFBs whilst the aim for BMN is to locally assemble, produce the electrolyte, distribute, sell and implement the end product.

My point was if UET are putting in relatively little effort for significant progress in Africa, why would an acquirer seek to change that? There would have to be a strategic imperative for doing so and it is difficult to see what would outweigh sales progress.

In terms of assuming ceasing operations in 2025, these companies will only ever use reserves for the basis of calculation. In fact, that is the entire purpose of reserves - to state the extent of the commercially viable resource that has so far been delineated so nothing wrong with using that. You also have to remember that valuation models tend to be based on discounted cash flows and the further out the figures and greater the discount, the less relevant future revenues are to that valuation. The industry standard tends to be viewed as 7 years but obviously long life mines attract a premium even if their valuation is not reflected in today's asset calculations.

I am not sure how much effort UET actually put into Africa. I suspect very little other than to support BMN's efforts and based upon the issues associated with setting up the demonstration battery it is not entirely convincing that they are doing much of that either. In the early stages of a relationship, i.e. first sales, you would expect a great deal of support.

I suspect that BMN are doing most of the 'heavy lifting' on developing the operation in Africa. As such, any acquirer of UET would probably be pretty content to allow this to continue, especially if that partner is supplying electrolyte.

I think that we are some time off of this scenario. Whilst we live and breathe Vanadium and VRFBs on this board, the world is only just starting to become aware and the technology is nowhere near as widespread as Lithium ion. Once the technology becomes more widespread the big companies are almost certain to come knocking at the door of UET.

It is UET that will be looking out for a takeover I should imagine but it will need to prove that the solution has market traction which, hopefully, is where BMN should be able to help. I don't think that it would be a bad idea at all for BMN to have a slice of UET and BMN have intimated as much recently.

Interestingly Shell participated for the first time in a Sonnen raise just nine months ago which is indicative of a market whose profile is rising rapidly. Interesting times.

Actually, looking at these interims, I find it difficult to understand how the company functions at all.

Can anyone explain the interims released? Each year they have net current liabilities of just over £3m and yet they seem to be able to roll them over each year. If that is the case, surely they are not due within 12 months. Thoughts?

It's just profit taking. AIM shares can lose 40-50% of their value and still be in a bull phase.

AAZ is now a dividend producing share so will be judged on yield amongst other things. They are a well run company so I suspect that the share price will do well in the long term if they maintain performance and the price of gold remains positive. Like all miners they are dependent to a great extent on the price of their commodity.

I would caveat the above by stating that I sold out in the late 20s when they suspended mining at Gedabek as they developed Ugur! This proved to be exactly the wrong thing to do so my credibility is limited on this (although I did buy at 6p ish so it wasn't all bad).

Low volumes have a tendency of creating the largest moves but if today follows the previous trends then we should see stability and a bit of a recovery.

I wasn't really following yesterday's pricing very closely but as I recall the spread increased enormously with the ask remaining reasonably stable. That was the reason why I suggested a delayed sell is likely to come today as the ask followed the bid down.

The reason I suspect that there may well be is not because the bid has gone down but rather that the ask has gone with it. Normally in 'tree shakes' it is difficult to buy whilst the bid is dropping indicate that they are fishing for shares. When the ask drops as well and there are shares to buy, you have to suspect that some have been dumped on the market.

Whilst I believe that Asian Metal is a little out of date in its publishing of prices, it is always good to see it in black and white and it looks like the last couple of days have seen an uptick in Chinese FeV prices and stability in US/EU which is encouraging. Not the same rapid rise of last year but a steadier (more sustainable?) one. I suspect that this is just the start of a more rapid rise but I would be happy with steady.

I think you have to assume that there is a delayed trade in there. The daily price movements have been very similar for weeks bar a couple of days - slight uptick followed by a bigger drop and a gradual recovery. The days where there haven't been the early morning 'slam' have seen the share price rise very rapidly.

Spread is horrific. Just saw two consecutive trades of 0.074 and 0.11. I suspect that all anyone can actually manage is a small punt on this currently given the market capitalisation. Trades seem to be in the £00s currently so looks like a day trader's environment for more reasons than one.

The chart posted on ADVFN was rather contrived and the actual picture was far more supportive than they made out. The price activity today suggests continuing support so any investors who are short must be questioning their position. They then have a choice of doubling down, which is risky given the current price movement, or closing which would add fuel to the fire.
