I get the feeling they get pumped before a raise, purely on the timing of follow on events.
Like EOG, big rise, so could say the company took advantage of the price to raise, but shortly after they announced an off-shore drill...questionable
but the rise may have been the opportunity they had be waiting on for a long time to fund such a drill.. who knows

Surely the standard 100m should see them through to 2024, ...

Unless they intend to drill another well or two, to take phase 2 away from a binary play

So maybe He1 were out bid, so early agm, to approve that increased share allocation, thats £10m in the bank, and the ability to raise another £10m if needed..
A rig from Texas, is going to cost a lot more than that Exalo rig, taking typically 2 months by sea to travel from Texas to Dar es Salaam, and another 2 on return...

Trouble is DM has told so many stories, you don't know what was a bluff or something that just did'nt work out..

88 Energy (LON: 88E) has recovered following yesterday’s fall when it announced it was raising up to £8.1m (A$15.1m) at 0.55p a share, which was a one-fifth discount to the previous closing price. The share price has recovered 12.5% to 0.675p. The cash will fund the Hickory-1 well at project Phoenix (formerly Icewine East) in Alaska, pay for new project Leonis acreage and provide working capital. There should be enough cash for at least 12 months.

88e into He1, would be nice...

DM is a nuisance, tells so many porkies to keep you holding for the imminent news, which discourages you from moving your funds to a position where you can claw back some of your losses..
We had the water rig end of 2021, then early feb 2022 he spoke of completing a Rig MOU, then the AGM it was the Texas rig they were in a leading position for, DM saying he was confident they would get it, then the other two, and now his bat phone keeps ringing, .... So from late 2021 until now he has bluffed about , or failed to get a rig :(
Also looking likely, He1 will be doing another raise, so 1.045 Billion shares sometime in 2023, and it could come before drilling starts...So if he gets a rig, he will be pumping the discovery line....

So an Arv raise coming ?

I probably confused the issue by mentioning Arv/Ufo while looking for reasons EQTs share price appears to be held back..

Arv were off-loading UFO shares keeping UFO's price down, once it was announced Arv sold all, UFO share price increased...Also Arv's broker did'nt get a good price selling into the market, everytime a batch was sold to the market there was an anomalous down spike as shares continued to trade within a significantly higher range..I think the broker got the boot...
