Bit strong against another opinion? (now I'm home).

I have shares in HEMO, IQ-AI; $TLSA; Angle. Every BB is just waiting for BP to buy them out as they have the best there is, in their area, it's just that only the people on the BB know it yet. BP have deep pockets because they are discerning, not cos they buy everything that pops up.

Yes, I have sold a small amount recently. The way things are going with AVCT I can perhaps discipline myself to only buy back when things are looking more promising or when there's a lower price. That doesn't mean I want the price to go lower. That WOULD be stupid.

No problem. It's why I've continued to hold almost everything I've bought until very very recently. But with all this waiting the 'deal' seems just as distant, and possibly further than ever. The penny is dropping in fact that it may never actually arrive.

BP have waited and waited and what have they lost? Nothing. In fact their position is getting better and better all the time. Are they ANY worse off if they bid tomorrow than if they'd offered 2 years ago? So where's the incentive to bid tomorrow when waiting could give them an even better deal.

School run I'm afraid, but I hope I've made my point.

(And I do wish a deal would land tomorrow)

Ice, I read the very same posts as you and I appreciate the view wyn gives, and why shouldn't wyn change his views as new info or SP action occurs; if the data changes, why shouldn't someone buy when they see potential for gain or sell when they see a bump in the road. And where better to post these views but on a BB?

You slightly contradict yourself but let's say the majority of wyn's posts have indeed been to highlight 'problems' rather than 'buying opportunities'. Just look at today's SP. The precision platform may be brilliant but as things move forward I'm not at all sure I'll get any of the benefit. In fact it's just cost me an awful lot of money to git this far.

'Still grinding away ' and 'not understanding science' comments makes you look like you're beginning to feel the pressure ICE. Not many people need to understand all aspects of companies they invest in but if they understand sp movements they should make money.

To be fair to you, and using Wyn's logic, you only need to be right more than you are wrong to get ahead. I have read posts by wyn for years and he is defo ahead (trading eve, RR, Fevertree, Babc ock. Losing on Harl and maybe Xeros, but that could easily turn around soon). With you (probably 'cos of you) I have also backed Wood. I hope you get lucky with at least one but at the moment it's looking less good for both, certainly for AVCT. When you have a big winner it might be justifiable to make a few condescending comments but atm Wyn has called it right far more often than not.

May I ask, when have you called it right before today? It could give me more confidence in your comments on this BB but I haven't got time to go through years of posts.

Absolutely true I'm afraid. Though I am still waiting – after 4 years? – with one, so too early to tell? ( A bit like Mao commenting on the French Revolution.)

I'm sure that there are people on the trial who are indeed 'cheered' that their tumours have shrunk and they have more time to enjoy life. It would've happened whether I am invested or not; me buying shares from... Heights, for example, has made zero difference to the trial or to the company. It means I may not even 'get my reward in heaven' (traditional back-stop) for the altruism I have shown in losing my money in a good cause.

To leak once could be an accident but to have leaked twice must have been by design. Any hint (leak) now of a firm offer to the FT and he sp will be back in the 40s in a shot.

The good thing is that cooler heads than most on this bb will be at work on the Sidara offer :-)

Sidara weren't born yesterday. They will have known (or guessed) most of the news. I assume it won't affect their enthusiasm (or lack of) to offer on Wood but will affect the price they offer.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but looks like Walleye increased their short.

Reductions in shorts were before 27th March.

If good news were JUST around the corner I suspect they'd wait for the good news to land before raising more. So this is a hedge agains news being delayed.

On reflection I've decided not to increase my holding.

But then all the proceeds would just pay the Administrators' Bills.

I wouldn't be hugely surprised if results come on the day they'd have come anyway, even if there was no no TO approach. Business as usual I'd have thought, and if there is a drop of good news in there, why not reveal it? (If your house is for sale you don't stop cutting the grass because someone has made an offer on it; well I wouldn't anyway.)
