RE: New here15 Jan 2021 13:16
If you look back at September's sp, 10 days before results, on the back of unexpected guidance, excited people were paying just under 7p for Eve, and on September 13/14th, 7p again – and maybe a little more – with a dip between those mini-spikes. That was on the expectation of the good news which duly arrived, but which was not exceeded. That left people feeling a little disappointed.
I'm slightly surprised (though not disappointed) that the rise into next weeks results is seemingly more modest. September was 4 or 5 months into the 'lockdown online bonus'. This time we've had another 6 months of selling Eve products through a time with very little high street shopping, in what's their busier period – and when on-line has obviously been king. Also, we've had the 'extras' sold through their own site and Boots.
I've consistently held rather than traded, somewhat to a cost in lost 'potential' earnings, earnings I could've made by trading. Despite that, I'm still considerably in the blue now. On balance I think I'll be holding-on next Thursday, whatever the results say and if we don't have a pre-results spike then I'd be less inclined to expect the usual post-results dip. That would suit me fine.
Scousemouse, your re-cap of events was a delight to read. I have hardly thought of Woodford for quite a while. It wasn't actually that long ago was it. Without his money we'd have gone bust I guess so even though the share dump was painful, we're only here because of him..
If I sell eve next week it'd only to put the cash back into a couple of other shares and that'd be a gamble too. I myself will hang on for those green and pleasant 'Eve lands' of one or two years from now. CC seems like she'll deliver and other share opportunities will have to wait till I have cash from elsewhere.
