We are still booked to go to France to see the inlaws we' haven't seen in 18 months. By wife's calculations the tests for the trip will come to £750.
Pity that none of that cash will be coming to the company I have shares in, which I bought for their covid testing prospects.

One really good thing I notice is that the picture editors of online news sites are no longer using shots of James Sturrock or even the old team carrying an Original down the street, to illustrate reporting of the TU.

Dub, you're obviously serious and heavily invested but one of your points was 'Website traffic and TP reviews point to a slight increase in revenue but nowhere near enough to achieve profitability,' but the RNS today says 'UK&I revenues increased year-on-year by 18%'. I think 18% increase is probably a bit better than you expected? You mention it's better than increase in marketing spend % so I think you'd accept that.

They said in the webinar last time that France was going to be pretty tough-going in H1, and since the ad campaign only began in May (..I think I recall May) one would hope for the benefit of that marketing investment in H2. They say the response has been strong.

Admittedly they also said that H2 in the UK could be tougher than H1 but people seem to think that H2 is their strong period. It's relative so maybe not exclusive. Black Friday last Nov seemed to thrill them.

They're investing in France which has affected the bottom line now, and with building up the inventory again to improve cuter experience, we do indeed have a loss, but would you still say nowhere near being profitable? Certainly profits are getting *nearer* unless there's a catastrophe.

I did anticipate an sp fall today after results (if only people move on, and has happened previously) hence my stop-loss on a small portion, unless there was something spectacular. I am disappointed that the slide happened before the TU came out; that was a change. You were exactly right to ask why would people expect something spectacular as there was little to suggest 'spectacular' in the approach to today.

Revenue figures today give me some confidence in conclusions we've been drawing from the TP figures.

(I did have a small amount (few £100) of eve in my non-ISA account. I'd always planned to sell them and move the cash to the ISA so set a stop for 4.19p. I did actually try to cancel but was too late and they sold for 3.8. It'll be 2 working days till I can even move proceeds to the ISA. Weird how I'm focussed on this annoyance rather than my much-larger ISA holding which is still blue.)

So we are going to be 'waiting' again. September will of course be interesting (cbd) but the next big news will now be 6 months away – unless something surprising pops up, which it easily could.

It's in today's RNS:

I haven't been doing this long enough to know but I've heard that Friday is a bad day for RNSs. Then one day Synairgen (I've been in there a while) gave a particularly good one on a Friday and the share leapt; that was a while ago.

I think CC is a little contrarian (telling the truth for example) so might like to choose a Friday (Friday 13th would have been even better but not available this July) to confound people. Or perhaps they just want to mix it up so we don't get used to news on a specific day and get worked-up when the days change.

Hi Wyn, yes I recall you saying you could jump back in somewhere you'd left and it'd be a new arrangement entirely. I wish I could do that! I seem to be unlucky on some shoes when i've done that even though others around me have done well!
I've been mainly on Eve today but I'm aware of what you refer to. It - his interviews - could be genuine enthusiasm and fully justified but borders on ramping at times. We've talked about it here. Thanks for the warning.

Incidentally, I mentioned another company earlier, not mentioned before. Reading their RNS they are full of generalities that sound good but the price has fallen because the hard figures have been poor. Thanks for that observation on RNS interpretation.

Hi Wyn, I guess we've been waiting so long – slightly weary! Trying to work out the best strategy, bearing in mind that sp will go up and stay up one day, but will it be tomorrow? Others may believe that the SP will never go up but with new products and TP numbers, I'm comfortable staying.
It is strange that there hasn't been a rise this week. Usually the rise increases as the TU looms but this time the rise was strongest when they announced the TU and has ebbed since. The fact that it's different this time could mean that, ironically, she will surprise us tomorrow. I bet the CBD gets at least a mention.

Cunir, my biggest holding is in something I first bought at 18p, and then fell to .9p, and this time last year was 1.3p. Right now it's 4.5, and may or may not rise tomorrow as TU is in the morning. I know things can turn around for a company so I've popped a little back in Napster. I did first hear of MVR from a friend's son who works for them and was (last time I heard) extremely enthusiastic about the company.

I re-posted it somewhere else (check my posting history – if interested) this morning as someone commented their 'BOD were doing nothing to support the SP'. I only mention here as could be a test of the article's thesis
TP for Eve today is 96, so should easily top 200 in July. Last July was 209. Repeating myself but June (last month) was 231 and June '21 was 197, so 18% up, YOY.

Orlm, I haven't followed this BB for a while but I tried to track down Myles's tweet you mentioned. It could be your sense of humour, or I just found the wrong tweets, but I did find this :)

The Napster acquisition is superb news for #MVR shareholders - in my opinion, at least, and I have a not insignificant holding at ~4.0p.
Depending on impending equity dilution, I see 10p within a couple of weeks of relisting in Nov, and 20p+ in Q1 2021.

As I said, 'but were going to invest instead'. CC and Tim P implied it was their choice to grow the business which should mean a better business in the end. To me 'nowhere near profitable' is rather doom and gloom.. That's ok though as we all have our own perspectives.
I'm intrigued by the change of pattern. We don't know how it'll go at 7am any more than we have before previous TUs but in the past the fomo has driven a rise. Maybe it'll still come this afternoon. I dare say Wyn's option 3 could be close. Having said that, one day, CC will want to surprise us and show what a job has been done.

I originally bought a small amount around 4p and sold out at 3p for a modest loss. I just bought them (and more) back, again a small sum. I can always add more later if it works out.
