Tim. I welcomed the clarification from AVCT and was surprised others wouldn't welcome it too, but a difference of opinion on one point doesn't mean someone isn't still 'OK'.

Thanks very much for your reply. I noticed it was the same scientist mentioned, I'm a shareholder here but have done less research on IQ-AI than my main shareholding. The way gallium works seems to be simple yet ingenious, rather like iodine tablets preventing radioactive iodine being retained in the body in nuclear instances. If it works with iodine why not gallium / iron, with the highly beneficial side effect of starving the cancer cell. And reaching the brain sets gallium apart from many other chemos.

I did mention IQ-AI on the other bb as they are also targeting solid tumours. It struck me that the two approaches could be highly complementary against solid cancers; belts and braces if you like. It's a shame that both are still in the fairly early phase. The other company are also looking into growing their diagnostics business which also might work well... Would be great for me personally if they did a tie up but the chances must actually be minuscule.

I know this isn't exactly what you were asking. But..

Gallium was mentioned in a RNS I read elsewhere. Gallium might work at reducing the growth of cancer cells by starving them of iron:

'Drs. Chitambar and Kathleen Schmainda, PhD, discovered that gallium maltolate (GaM) significantly slowed the growth, and reduced the size, of glioblastoma.'

'GaM, originally developed by Harvard and Stanford educated scientist Lawrence R. Bernstein, PhD, is an orally available form of the metal gallium, which, in the body, shares many chemical properties with the highly oxidized form of iron, called Fe(III). Numerous studies examining the relationship between iron and cancer show that increased levels of iron in the body can be associated with increased cancer risk and severity, because cancer cells depend on iron to multiply and spread. Because of gallium’s similarity to Fe(III), it enters cancer cells instead of iron, preventing their multiplication.

“The discovery that GaM has anticancer activity against glioblastoma in pre-clinical studies is extremely exciting; it opens the door for developing it as a drug for treatment of glioblastoma in patients,” says Christopher Chitambar, MD, Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Biophysics, Division of Hematology and Oncology at MCW. “The anticancer mechanism of GaM applies to *other solid tumors* as well,” he adds.'

Successful trials of both drugs permitting (% chance of that?) if an oral dose of gallium were used in combination with AVA6K the tumour would shrink and be killed off simultaneously.

Most probably just a muse on my part but why not..

Bein, I reckon Tim missed your point, your decimal point, and thought you were saying 5% not .5% / 0.5%

That's what we're told and yet they found cleaved dox (presumably in FAP rich tumours, otherwise it shouldn't be there) in several biopsies.

Think of AVCT as a pregnancy, just 12 weeks in to the full term. We only just announced to the world that we actually are pregnant as we didn't want to announce too early, in case there was a problem and 'IT' didn't work... We had a big gathering to make the announcement after dropping lots of coy hints.

But it does work.

Now we have many months of waiting, scans, tests, classes and groups, more tests, the costs of buying all that 'baby' paraphernalia, and maybe going to the USA for delivery at the Nasdaq as we understand the UK maternity wards often drop completely healthy babies on the delivery suite floor. And they just luuuuurve babies in the USA... That's where babies really thrive.

And here we all are (well some of us) working out the best career for our baby, what exact are of specialisation it will focus on, what it's annual salary will be when it grows up (and then for the next 25 years), all based on tables of previous babys' earnings – and then even what all it's siblings will exactly do and earn too! Quite some maths!

I have to say I just hope it's has 10 fingers, 10 toes, and smiles a lot. I just want a happy, healthy, Avacta baby. It doesn't have to be top of the class as I know a happy baby will do pretty darn well in life; be popular, a success to be proud of. That will make me a happy part-parent with all you other lovely part-parents :-)
