Re: momentum22 Oct 2018 13:10
Notmuchinsales on 13/12/16 you said “I am not invested. You can hardly expected (sic) any sensible person to be imho.”
At that time the sp was at about today’s level. However, between then and mid 2018 it was for the most part well above that level (dipping below it only once) and indeed there was plenty of opportunity to sell at over 10p on about 3 occasions.
To be fair, on 10/5/18 you said “GL to anyone deluded enough to be invested here.” and “I post here because it’s fun and I enjoy being right”.
Well, whilst it is somewhat unkind to call those invested in May 2018 ‘deluded’, you did at least call it right in May so far as the SP movement since then is concerned, but I don’t remember you admitting you were wrong for the 18 months or so between Dec 2016 and mid 2018. The truth is we all get it right/wrong some of the time, but rather than bet against some arbitrary revenue figure, why not answer the following questions honestly:
1) Do you expect the next reported revenues to be substantially up on last year’s revenues? Yes/no?
2) Do you accept that Fox is much closer to breakeven/profit now than it was 12 months ago? Yes/no?
3) Do you accept that it is likely that the SP will be higher at some point in the next 12 months than it is now. Yes/no? (Or do you still think that anyone buying or topping up now is ‘deluded’?)
I am not spoiling for an argument with you. We all accept that the past has been somewhat chequered and there have been numerous disappointments so far as sales/revenues are concerned. What I do find difficult to understand though, is why you are still here deramping away on a share that you sold out of four years ago when, on any objective view, the company is in better shape now than it has ever been. You have previously denied seeking a lower entry point and I am prepared to accept that. However, any value there might have been in highlighting the historical issues you have referred to is long gone.
The biggest risk to my money now, as I see it, and in the short term, is lack of liquidity (or some unforseeable disaster such as an earthquake wrecking the factory). As we have seen, a few sells can drop the price significantly. In thinly traded shares, as you must know as a self confessed trader (not that there is anything wrong in trading) sentiment is a major factor and comments on these boards can tip the balance between buys/sells enough to cause the sp to move. You can hardly expect those that are invested ‘feel the love’ when someone who is not comes along and starts re running all the disappointments of the past.
That is why, when I have sold out on a share, I rarely post on it again. I certainly don’t hang around for years deramping it. To my mind that is unfair and disrespectful to others who are still invested.
As you have accepted, previous years performance is history. Surely even you
