Managed to top up at 14.5 whilst getting quotes to sell both before and after at 14.77 - weird!

..... how this board has developed with the bulk of debate being focussed on trying to quantify how well and how quickly this company is progressing now, rather than the doom and gloom which dominated in the past. Looking forward to the next update which will hopefully clarify where we are and reduce the need for speculation on the numbers.

Given that we are only just above the two year low sp, and bearing in mind the progress since those levels were last reached, I can see this bouncing back fairly quickly.

Interesting that you got a quote for a decent number at a shade under 22p. That suggests to me that the big trade at the mid price was a buy, shifting the ask up a bit for your dummy buy. We know we have IIs accumulating so it will be interesting to see if we get a holdings update. Agree, patience required. This is definitely not a short term punt. Merry Xmas!

Yep, live buy price is 16.25 now. A bit of a shocker this morning but hopefully we will bounce back somewhat during the day. Typical of the market at the moment. Big over reaction to the slightest whiff of bad news. 2018 has been the worst year in my investing history, right across all the Shares in my portfolio. Here’s hoping for a recovery in 2019. Incidentally, although I haven’t translated the Cz articles, from what I can gather this seems positive rather than negative, and I agree with Ant on this. Markets are irrationally fearful at the moment though.

Great podcast out on **********. Hum are clearly on track to be back to profitable production in January. Grades at Gonka are outstanding. Pit wall issue at Yanfolila likely to be a one off as problem resolves itself as they go deeper into hard rock. Good to see the market beginning to get it too.!

Hi Troy Just a few observations: 1) I don’t really get why the Company bothers with the Hardman research tbh, as they are so conservative and, in the absence of a valuation probably do more harm than good. The Capital Networks research note of March 2018 gave us a valuation of about £22m I.e 3x current market cap; 2) Catherine Booth hasn’t sold any shares imo as the lock in provisions of the disposal prevent her from doing so until 10th January and, even then she is limited to selling £200k worth over the next six months. The reduction in her percentage to £3m will be the dilutative effect of the recent fund raise. 3) We don’t know, of course, that Odey will necessarily carry on selling at this price. Or at all. I imagine Chris will do an interview on this which will help with promoting the share but I have a feeling now that he will wait until the New Year before putting out a more general trading update so he can get as much under his belt as he can for that. 5.45% lift in sp for just over £5k of shares shows how quickly this could rise with a decent amount of buying pressure. Need to get the word out there via twitter etc.

TroytoTiber - I don't know if you applied for tax refief, but having done a bit more research, I have a nasty feeling that it is only the new placing shares which qualify, as opposed to shares bought on the open market. I am going to apply anyway, just in case I am wrong about that, but I am not optimistic, sadly!

1) We have a new cornerstone investor in for 12.78% of the company at a price of 23p per share, with a further £2.5m in loan notes convertible at 28.75p; 2) The Pru (M&G) and Calculus both took large additional chunks in the placing at 23p; 3) The Directors took decent amounts in the placing at 23p; and 4) Odey have been reducing their stake but presumably mostly at higher prices than at today’s SP. We also know that, in the past, The Pru have taken a lot from Odey off market. Given that the major shareholders (including Odey) must be holding at higher prices than today’s one would hope that the things ought to take a turn for the better sometime soon. Perhaps when Mr 10k runs out of shares or at least stops selling!

And there is another one for 10k at .19 so clearly someone is still selling regularly!
