Yes a really good interview which should give punters new to the Company a clearer idea of Genedrive’s approach on coronavirus testing but also, it’s contract with the US Dept of Defence and the test for antibiotic related hearing loss In babies. Just for context, I was informed back in 2017 that the Genedrive handheld test instrument was priced then at about £4000 per unit. So, 500 units at £4K is obviously £2million, which is significant for a company of Genedrive’s size. Then on top of that are the test cartridges themselves to be used with the instruments. On the anti biotic related hearing loss test, there is a potential of about 90,0000 tests per annum and, at a test price of £60, that could generate an income of £5.4 million pa. In my view the NHS is almost certain to adopt the Genedrive system for this and the company is gearing up for a GLOBAL launch. The trial at Manchester and a Leeds is an IMPLEMENTATION trial, the test itself is already proven and approved for use. The trial was originally scheduled to complete in May but may obviously be delayed somewhat given the impact of the current crisis (although I doubt by much, given the benefits to babies and NHS budgets). Then there is the HCV test, the TB test in development oh, and of course now the Coronavirus tests, as well as potentially many more in due course. No one trick pony this, and loads of potential given the small market cap and limited shares in issue. Not advice and please DYOR
