'We had the opportunity of a conversation (a recording is available on request to holders) with new chairman Jean-Michel Cossery as well as CEO Lindy Durrant at the end of May, which was very useful. Cossery, a veteran of Eli Lilly (where his jobs included head of oncology) has clearly brought some clear focus to the business and he stressed that they could not do everything, however good the science– and that implicitly we could see more disposals in the antibody area, and a focus on vaccines. Cossery observed that vaccines are hard and were a backwater- till Covid and BioNTech/ Moderna- but are now a “hot ticket”. He sees the inflection in terms of potential big pharma interest being at the point that there are credible numbers of patients (30-40) in clinical trials (and of course positive readouts). They have recruited a business development officer (arriving September) which is necessary to search out deals but this has not been a straightforward hire, and he sees the need to add to the team around Lindy. A new CFO is being hired, a Chief Medical Officer would be nice but not yet affordable.'

I reckon Zacari was a safety net to take the very deal-able mAbs and AvidiMab out of the away from the picture if in particular moditope was looking dodgy in the trial as we all know full well what AIM would have done to this company by now... luckily that is not needed so... looks like the better option plan is taking shape:)

I think NASDAQ has always been part of the Redmile plan... As Lindy says 'if the trials work well' Which to me doesn't really mean a reverse takeover but going to the NASDAQ in style It won't be any day soon I believe Cossery was put on the Immunocore BOD to help ease them onto the NASDAQ in the interests of one of their big institutional investors a job that was done but I think was a 2-year process and I reckon it could be about that here... By end of ModiFY trial... Also key will be proper pharma deals I am talking at least tens of millions upfront if not hundreds ... the kinds of deals we see getting done on clinical-stage assets all the time... the timing of those is crucial to avoiding any tin-rattling (let them come soon)... Although more mAB or indeed AvidiMab deals could drop anytime too ...I'd like to think one of those Scancell met in Boston will have been Seagen....

After the word 'encouraging' the one you look for is 'promising' and Lindy is now using that word for the Head and Neck target of course we know about the fantastic so far Trish Modi 1 journey but to go from encouraging to promising it is likely her experience is not a one-off in that target....

I think the Ovarian target is going to be a big ask ... to get anything from it is something, which is why the fact a safety cohort patient managed to have an immune response and potentially gain a benefit and then just over 50% of fully dosed patients in that target also look to have gained benefit is indeed encouraging, however, it may be we do not see much beyond stable disease and progressive disease in that notoriously immuno cold target... Again Modi 1 is but a product of a platform if there is a way of getting the moditope mechanism to reach its maximum potential in a target that shows even a little bit of potential benefit I'm sure team Scancell Science can do that we have already seen a recent paper on a new a promising citrullinated GRP78 that is a candidate tumour antigen.....

The Science never sleeps... let the Commerical monster now awaken! :)...... Hopefully Lindy is doing enough to convince the likes of Mellman and Sahin to get in now :)

They can keep dual listings in fact we are already on the Frankfurt BOERSE ....

It hopefully is more about getting a more sensible and stable US valuation plus all the easier financing opportunities....

Redmile then jumped out of BioNTech too soon... maybe a lesson learnt there🤔...Also BioNTech went onto NASDAQ with many decent pharma deals under their belt but not so much data... Scancell go about it the AIM way lol...other NASDAQ plan connection is Cossery that was his job for Immunocore our Oxford bio neighbour that also went the less depressing AIM route 😀

Oh no don't get me wrong absolutely deals can be done and on very early data too...if the buyer wants In then the deal is done I more meant at the moment our ModiFY data is very skewed to Ovarian probably the most difficult target of all which is why it's recruited so well...I actually am quite hopeful on the Renal target as well as head and neck ,I remember renal being described as a very promising target.....data rules,Lindy is like all great scientists not going to BS about it...

I think the main thing for moditope is the proof of concept that you can build effective vaccines that utilise that CD4 Tcell triggering mechanism ... because then team scicence scancell can science the heck out of it to get the very best moditope vaccines for all suitable patients in all targets ... but that will take a heck of a lot of financing which means deal/s I do think it will get that but how much and when of course are the big questions :) It of course will be best if modi 1 as it is can show itself potent enough in enough patients to have itself commercial promise as that would make it so much more attractive at the moment we just don't know until we get that data in .... to my mind you need about 6 months data on patients to have a very good idea of what this treatment will mean to that patient... and for many cohorts and targets, we are still a long way off that for instance in the CPI cohort at the moment the only significant data will be on the safety cohort of probably 3 patients on a half dosage.... so a ways to go yet...

'In a presentation to a large cancer conference in Chicago in early June, Scancell said the Modi-1 vaccine was well tolerated by patients and the early data on its effectiveness when given alone was encouraging.

It looks most promising as a treatment for head and neck cancer, where “surgery is quite debilitating and … it’s very disfiguring”, though Durrant cautions: “I don’t think it will be for every patient.”

Modi 1 probably is not going to be the wonder drug for the targets in the ModiFY trial but it looks like it will find the cohorts in the targets where it will make an impact....

Looks like Lindy may have gone to AACR and took a holiday in Florida after it before and there you go the plan is to head to NASDAQ but that can only happen effectively with some proper pharma deal/s

I haven't paid to see the article but the run-in sounds positive and it's up to date so maybe this and the passing of the act are positive pieces in finalllllly getting that MDA over the line

I don't know when we get the next ModFY update I only know recruitment is going well I can't say that is in all 4 targets or not but certainly the data so far is HGSOC dominated and possibly Scancell want to show more data in more patients in the other 3 targets and indeed CPI cohorts which beyond the safety cohort they at the moment only have minimal data...I would expect if there were suddenly a % of Complete responders they would want that news out.... beyond that dunno and completely agree that means SP drifts south unless other newsflow comes out way

As for fashion in bio/pharma.... notice how now Scancell uses the 'neoepitope' word pushed up on anything Moditope related there is a reason for that as it is one of those buzzwords and connected to personalized therapies.... But the way Scancell goes about is unique....I can well imagine a future where Scancell only needs a tumor sample to be able to put together a modi vaccine from its collection of off-the-shelf peptides that could be effective and that might be pretty much every single patient in pretty much every single solid cancer target.... Lindy is always far ahead of where we know she already is :)

I would add the almost-forgotten or somehow written off by us due to the endless saga ImmunoBody to me is probably the one that is the easiest for a Pharma to deal with as that is Scancells most clinically advanced platform and well really now that it has a practical delivery system that is commercial (pharmajet) plus the extended patent and effectiveness with AvidiMab....And if you choose the right epitopes you are pretty much guaranteed positive immune response data you have to think some company out there would be attracted .... if only it were titled an mRNA platform lol we know then just for fashion reasons it would become attractive... even though it being DNA makes it be more practical cheaper and other added benefits than an mRNA vax

It looks to me like the first significant data RNS was released for the benefit of attending AACR and ASCO and indeed we had to wait for the AACR poster to see more details than were contained in the RNS

My thinking on the next data update is well it#ss either be tied to another event presentation or it will be when there is much more data on all 4 targets as at the moment the data is HGSOC skewed and that is probably the toughest target of all hence probably why it managed to recruit faster than the others .... Or if there are some significant % of complete responses to report as in a boom time RNS

And I have no idea do they have that amount of data in on all 4 targets yet, they certainly have a lot more than the last update though .....

Heartening things - Dr Miller presenting the ASCO poster as IMHO there is no way he would have stood in front of a poster that contained less info on it than the AACR one unless he is believer as in he knows enough to be confident ...

BIO2023 I think may not have been part of the original plan if prof Otten was to present at ASCO but it now makes complete sense to me why they replaced him for a big Scancell name when you factor in BIO2023 happening days after and Scancell going there to talk deal/s ....

BTW I think all techs including Moditope are up for doing deals on I think as soon as Scancell acheived the development milestone of making Modi 1 a clinical product it became adeal able...

The thing with deals is .....How much is Lindy willing to give for how much in return... she is not one for giving away IP :) even on the totally deal-able mAbs, she is itching to go after clinical data ....

That could be the problem Vulpes hinted at but also it means she is not going to be selling us short .... but we do need deals and ASAP before the tin rattle!

Sure would have been nice to know just who Scancell met at BIO2023 and been the fly on the wall but they were all there... BioNTech... GenMab...SeaGen ... Genentech ... and everyone else who might have any interest whatsoever in Scancells rather impressive and far more advanced than ever pipeline... plus Lindy with Dr. Miller and hopefully J Cossery with the Redmile/Vulpes backing I like to think are able to get a lot further in such negotiations than previously...

Yeah ... What you have to hope then is that the triggered T-cells are then making a right mess of the patient's cancer as in destroying it .... Again this is where it's not really true to compare a mouse day to a human day when it comes to the immune response...

My understanding on this is that in CPIs which are not vaccines, it takes 2-3 months for a clinical response as in you get to know if this therapy is working to the extent that there is tumor load being destroyed ...I'd expect because Modi 1 is a vaccine it ought to work a little quicker.... We won't know till we get that data in

I get that drift and your right it was more it made me laugh about NASDAQ and London the place to be for biotechs to list and how our future pensions will bloom because of it

Truth is it's taken a US fund to invest a modest for them amount to get Scancell to this position and AIM screams end of the world every penny off the SP ..... again I doubt scancells future depends on UK investors...big deals with pharma and biotechs raised profile and valuation then onto sleepy NASDAQ
