It will almost certainly be something scancell and BioNtech will be talking to each other there about as it is the perfect setting and I doubt they get to meet that often, whether anything gets signed off is another matter ...but BioNtech are going to be very much trying to raise their US profile pre-NASDAQ IPO

I'd think at least JC and Cliff will be there... It is possible Lindy as well if she is needed or fitting in ASCO too though there is no scancell data being presented at that this year... next one though :) ...
I suppose that makes sense about BioNtech being happy to get any US coverage and a scancell tie up done there would make some news headlines... however, it'll all depend on how the collaboration is going and if it is concluding etc... but certainly a nice thought :) ....I certainly don't think scancell will be sad and lonely in the corner at this conference

I try to follow and read as much about immuno onco as I can take in and for sure I do not understand it all but I have seen from forums many many people are through desperation purchasing Keytruda and Opivido 'off label' as obviously them being commercial now means they are available... people are trying them in all kinds of cancers which they have not been approved for with very mixed results (mostly bad) ..... another thing I have noticed is the amount of side effects it really seems anyone who takes a CI does end up with at least one side effect some much more serious than others but that all adds to the overall cost as those side effects need treating too...... The main point here being there is a HUGE need of effective treatments and CI have come along and changed the world but by no means are they some kind of silver bullet to cancer far far from it...... come on team scancell! CRUK see the potential of SCIB2 and there is far more in the pipeline to change this whole area for the good....

That's clearer then :))... but yes the point being a $10 billion dominating asset by no means has the market cornered! It is kinda why Rucks valuations are fine but wrong what we are really dealing in is making ALL cancers effectively treatable it is a big ask but I think everyone who has been here a long while does understand that is the direction we are going in and that scancell could well be a significant part of that endgame .... my thinking is CI will continue to dominate the immuno market and expand into new targets for the next 5 years but after that it will be decline for them as newer more effective less toxic therapies emerge

Did a little search and found this so yeah it looks like keytruda will not be of benefit to a majority of patients... remember SCIB2 does not need PD1 expression infact it probably induces it as that is how the tumour defends against it... ideal combo and PD1 stimulator!

It confused me too which is why I had '?' , what I was meaning though is if you have a 100% (all people with latestage lung cancer) and of those 25% are suitable to be treated by keytruda.... and of that 25% of the 100% 23% survive beyond 5 years then the overall number of lung cancer patients (100%) benefiting from keytruda is very tiny I worked it out at less than 1%.... most lung cancer patients not even being suitable for keytruda treatment... anyways my main point being keytruda is a $10 billion a year asset for Merck yet it obviously needs combo help to get those % up..... hope that is clearer...BTW I only went off the figures mentioned and do not know if that is true that only 25% of lung cancer patients are suitable...

So it means less than 1% of all late-stage lung cancer patients (as only 25% are suitable) survive beyond 5 years after being treated by Keytruda?

Obviously, 23.3% is far better than 5%... But it really shows how much CI need combos to get that % higher.... pre clinically SCIB2 and Keytruda had 100% mouse survival... what is also of interest is the more recent preclinical data of SCIB2 in mono using nano delivery showed about 90% survival against the previous SCIB2 data without nano... which showed about 60% survival.....

Have been and are actively recruiting staff around their cell and gene therapy platforms...That means their CAR T and TCR programs.. 2 new jobs around them in the last week... this does not necessarily mean a deal with scancell is imminent as they could well be to do with taking their CAR T into trials or TCR's without modi1 help ...however it does show they are keen to get cell and gene trials going which can only be a good sign...

I think the data from that trial will indeed be what gets a deal there... the battle for CI companies finding the right combo's is very much on... Keytruda is a $10 billion a year asset to Merck!!! And there is nothing special about it in as much as BSMs opivido is basically the same drug and there are many other PD1's ... some being Chinese cheaper versions... What a battleground... where they at best can successfully treat only 20-30% of in need patients...

Scancell will need funding to complete 2 coming trials (especially modi1 as that will be in up to 60 patients)... We have no idea exactly how those funds will come there are multiple possibilities so far the way they have come is from market and dilution ... The amount scancell need to raise would be hard at this sp and would not be from an OO as they never get fully subscribed to here... It would be a placing but how much could be raised as they are limited to how much they can dilute... 20% I think?.... We have a reseach collab with BioNtech due to conclude any time with the option for them to do a licensing deal on modi1 tech from similar deals in that TCR area we could expect at least $10 million upfront... active talks on partnering modi1 have been and are ongoing such a deal there could possibly bring in up to or beyond $100 million... ImmunoBody and Glycan Mabs open to deals... CRUK taking ImmunoBody SCIB2 forwards using nano delivery tech... Other possible avenues are grants and outside income coming in i.e biotech funds...China etc... I would like to think scancell will know how close to moving forward with the 'new TCR therapeutics' with BioNtech they are and hopefully this will be the route a non-share dilutive non IP dilutive partnership upfront payment which will raise mcap and make it easier to raise some extra funds from the market with minimum dilution ... If I remember right the trials need £4million each to fully cover them?

Yeah, I meant more the conference is not a data presenting one... but of course data will be important for any deals... scancell have some impressive data and a much fuller understanding of moditope and how to get it as a product into to trial plus all protected by patent... ImmunoBody is now free of electroporation and the hurdles that adds to deals and those MaBs and surrounding platform tech are there for partnering too... Not to mention the power of name dropping... Keith Flaherty etc.... think Cliff and co will have a busy time over there ...

Our old buddies Inovio have somehow always managed to get them... but not hold on to them.. seem to remember Roche had one with them that they backed out of later too... yet they got to keep many $millions in upfronts...
A real mystery of the universe how these deals are done.... Who does the due diligence on the techs before parting with $ millions?.... At least with BioNtech if a deal is done there we will know the science is sound as its been a research collaboration for over a year.
