Boom I've noticed from his twitter feed Prof Ball has quite a lot to say about the Oxford Vaccine.

Of course there is immunity... The thing here is this is 'novel' so yes at some point as a species we evolve to cope with it via immunity but that might take decades and lots and lots of death... the Native Americans had immunity but not to the deadly gifts Europeans brought to them

It does seem a little odd that a product that will be mostly used by over 55s isn't including them in its trials anyways real success of any kind is welcome.... Maybe 'based in Oxford' will finally pay for scancell lol

Yeah, too many unknowns to say you can only get CV19 once certainly some faulty testing going on but we know immunity to coronaviruses is not lifelong and could possibly be only for weeks as if it were we wouldn't all get so many colds.. this is like a deadly cold that could haunt us for a very long time meaning a successful vaccine could make it manageable like flu is.

And safe and scaleable at an affordable cost.. Be good to hear if the planned delivery is electro or nano I think it will be nano...again making it more practical ...So all down to who scancell can attract to get involved if there was ever a time to attract investment now is it seeing as the science is already here just waiting to go...This is not a company trying to come up with something from scratch this a company with pedigree able to make vaccines ready for the clinic in months....

So obviously scancell are somewhat behind in this race and indeed not even really in it till we get off the starting line but as an athlete with form are looking strong for the longer race.... If inovios approach and indeed others that are going a similar route show efficacy is that not a very good support of the scancell approach considering they also do have those vulnerabilities to longer-term success that the scancell approach could 'iron out' ?

Indeed not all vaccines are going to be as effective or as practical as each other....At the moment the rush is on to find absolutely anything that can positively battle against this virus.... I like that scancells is classed as a 'next generation' vaccine.... I too would be happy to hear from nana or anyone else who can help give a more clear science view.... Is our vaccine going to be much like the Innovio one that is already in trial?.... At the moment 'herd immunity' is looking a little shakey as the incoming data is showing natural immunity to this virus is patchy ...I've read some victims in China who caught this right at the beginning are still held in isolation as although 'recovered' they are still testing positive and could possible still be infectious... So much to still learn about this pandemic and the virus behind it but at the moment it looks like our world is going to be changed from what we knew before it for a long time yet and there will be many many more deaths and health care stress.... looking like at least 20 in 200 infected need ICU care and at least 1 of those will succumb which when scaled up and seeing how infectious this virus is is going to challenge the structure of our world until effective long term immunity can be established and that will probably only come by a vaccine.

I'd reckon we have a much better chance of getting non-dilutive funding for COVID vaccines than we have ever had before also the Notts Uni team is well respected in this field .. I've seen Professor Balls name in quite a few media articles:

David Evans seems fairly upbeat about it all which seeing as he has talked to Lindy already about it is a good sign though he does, of course, point out what is glaringly obvious and all of ours worry... funding.... we get it we are on we don't and as he says it is just powder puff PR, I'm sure we all agree and with our scancell fatigue are all going to be waiting to see before believing however I do also take his other points... This is very different than business before doors that were never open before will now be and we are talking globally too...Only great science is going to solve this crisis I have no doubts loads of crap science and pet projects will be invested in before any great science gets to shine through though... least we have something to talk about now though lol

NXC being David Evans of course ... nice that he has been in touch with Lindy and got some insight and that he has shared it ...So yeah scancell are where scancell always are great potentially game-changing science a top-notch PHD team but pretty much skint lol so unable to translate that IP into results .... So come on Bill Gates or whoever!

To take a potential game-changing world economy saving scancell COVID19 vaccine program into a clinic?.... oh probably only 10% of a top premier league players wage...the world we live in.

We can but hope ... It is either a case of we got an idea of funding or... we are here and ready come fund us! ... hopefully the former lol but the thing is like I say nothing at this moment in time is more vital and sought after than effective treatments and ultimately vaccines for Covid19... scancell have an answer is it the answer well only trials can prove that but of all the other answers scancells is one backed by science and a PHD powerhouse team... so worth a share of any funding

In Cliff's interview... 'longevity of immunity' .... with costs I think that is going to be any vaccines vital essence .. whats the point of getting a jab only for it to be useless in 3 weeks time.

Herd immunity and coronaviruses is a problem... how long are people immune? possibly only days/weeks... the common cold is caused by coronaviruses we are pretty much all vulnerable to them every year that is why this pandemic is possibly not going to just ' go away'

BTW I think there will be a lot of coronavirus vaccine/treatment fails... the whole everyone and their mother is coming up with a coronavirus solution will see a lot of poor science found out (Gilead's remsdivir already) but also it will mean good science if given the chance will prove itself... so let's hope someone/s with clout gets with the scancell well and backs Lindy like we do ....p.s bleach is not the solution, really!

The long silence certainly hinted 'something was going on' .... still lots of questions to be answered and nothing in RNS about the current situation with SCIB1 SCIB2 or modi 1.... Like I say this could well be the opportunity for scancell to attract some serious interest as well the need for vaccines against coronaviruses is now err slightly the most urgent quest in the world and scancell have a novel angle which could attract attention and money!

For an RNS telling us how scancell are working at keeping COVID 19 out of its labs and away from its staff... Only to get one saying they are going to actively bring it in!!!! :) well ....There is lots to be excited about today but only really if at last scancells innovative science can attract those much-needed funds to get the science anywhere, this , perhaps is the opportunity of opportunities to finally pull that off ....My understanding is no one has ever created an effective vaccine against a corona virus and that it seems immunity to them is very short-lived which does indeed make the scancell approach attractive... Anyways Poundland BioNTech does it again but without the added $$$$$$

Interesting but not sure it will lead to anything reading the article they are after funds and the original corona vaccine that they developed over 4 years has not get further than studies in chickens ... still, the fact many all over the globe are working towards vaccine/s does mean there is a good chance of getting an effective one in faster than the usual time.

lol quite inventive though not sure how he can reach to pick up his shopping items... I'll give it a miss I'm not even sure how effective the 2-meter distancing is, probably better than no distancing measures at all.
