Inan... this is why I am for testing testing testing.... lockdown is no good lockdown for how long?.... yes isolating the vulnerable is sensible but at moment your going to have people going off work enmass because they think they have/might be exposed or could be about to get a cough... 2 weeks off gov covers you with sicknote and pays you... yet unless you test positive your employer is going to suffer hugely then when back to work after 2 weeks you are just as exposed as before!!!.... needs to be massive testing regime IMHO

To be told to self-isolate ....not sure how that works but at least you all have this BB to vent on lol

If I tested positive I go into isolation and keep away from vulnerable people in my family .... they know I'm a risk... but you seem to want people dead as soon as possible... oh well

If a test with 10 mins results exist when one workmate tests positive the whole workforce does not need to go off into isolation as they can all be tested and only the affected need to go off

The genie is indeed out but do you not keep an eye on what it is doing? do you not limit its ability to cause chaos? by not testing broadly and thoroughly you are left open to the destruction of life and economy ....

Again if herd immunity and to protect the economy is what you want you need to be following the virus... telling people to stay at home with a cough or if they think they have been exposed without testing is madness... I know from my work an office has had a positive case and 20 odd people who worked with him went straight off into isolation.... one has since tested positive.... how is this going to work out? so now 19 people go back to work at some point in 2 weeks only to again be back to being exposed ....

Testing testing testing is the way.... then you get the full picture you can identify those most at risk in potentially life-saving time you can divert resources to most affected areas at the time needed and you can isolate therefore slow the spread...at the moment you have panic and self-isolation... you want to preserve the economy... get to know where the virus is and who has it otherwise you will end up with the whole country phoning in ill for 2 weeks only to come back to work and get ill later.... madness

Obviously the data picture is a work in progress... apparently, these results in 10 mins tests have been ordered by the millions by S Korea who indeed are going the testing testing testing route... they seem to have a lower mortality rate there too as no doubts identifying the infected means treatment for those most at risk can start earlier too.... here if you have a cough stay at home no need for a test until you need the ambulance

Seems obvious the way to go is testing testing testing!!!.... I saw on CH4 news there is now a test with results in 10 mins... if it is reliable our gov should be all over that and use it all the time and indeed big employers should be too.. As although yes we will need herd immunity it is best if this is done in as managed a way as possible by containing as best and delaying spread the way you do that is testing testing testing and then isolating the infected....looks like we are all stuck in an experiment though of doing not a lot and seeing what happens and reacting along the way.... real good government that.

You have to hope everyone doesn't get sick all at the same time I read somewhere there could be at least 1 in 5 of the workforce on the sick during the period of however long this pandemic will last
