Here's one for you all... If pharma comes in can they do a Pfizer and say we have learnt so much we are going it alone now?

I think patently not ... any other opinions on that one?

scancell investors I like to think have more nouse of course traders are now excited by scancell but so what? Once again do you trust in the scancell approach you know the one that showed itself effective + in melanoma.... if so why worry we are in a very nice place with all kinds of possibilities

I think some here are stuck in a scancell history rut... not knocking them they are still very positive but past bruises course a memory response lol ... we are in a whole new area and world now... I posted a link before about a new UK potential developer of a future universal vax... that included a little mention of scancell... and they seemingly are inundated by all kinds of offers.. well if that is true scancell who are we presume pretty much trial ready must be in a good place as far as 'interest' goes

Again it will all come down to data but I like to think my link to Cancer Vaccines, Adjuvants,and delivery systems shows scancell are not thick! They are onto indeed ahead of the game that will change the whole world for which Covidity is basically a fast track opportunity not to be missed... or messed up!... I'm in and up for it myself L)

Yes well that was pre all that and the CEPI and UK Gov backed call for 100 day vaccines... it is all very interesting fast-moving....and well nobody wants another lockdown....so I'm predicting nothing apart from if scancells vax is trial ready and.... works... we are going to be well minted . If it does not... I'd be surprised but it would be scienced to F by scancell and as to why not... and this is not a one trick pony

Krafty if I remember rightly from Cliff we would have those kinds of results within this year that would either support the vax going forwards or otherwise.. so safety -tick antibodies -tick and T cells -tick ought to all show through ph1 data which would then green light further studies... and all that entails

Ok I agree if people get hung up on CEPI have funded this one and then this one but not us its not great for sentiment... but well CEPI has already funded all sorts lol ... So long as we just look at it as a potential funding avenue and one that just got a little more interesting with this very recent call for proposals that seems to fit rather well with what the Notts team are working on.... then yes there is the added tweetiness action and the CEPI article mentioning none other than!....
but again that is not to me anything like the GC play.... which again though got spun into a failure and yeah would have been great to win a prize it did not really change scancells IP and prospects modi3 is already a 'thing' and the reveal from GC of just who Lindy was attracting was in itself a great reveal....and something that can still yield future fruits to my mind....

I like Kraftys view ... and think that is one possible play out... pharma coming in is another and again yes likely we wait for ph1 results.... at least at the moment until we hear different that is how it looks but we all know events and parties can change things at any moment especially given that this is probably the hottest area to be involved in at the moment.

We can put it like this...
Scancell at this time do not need extra Covidity funding although that does not mean they could not be used or would not be taken up if an appropriate funding option came forward.

Scancell will need extra funding if Covidity proves itself as a viable option on ph1 data being positive.

That funding can come from - Gov Pharma CEPI a combination of all... or some other option I don't know about.

And that is that at the moment we await progress into trials news on 3 products ... and anything else that may come :)

It is ok to speculate on all things though IMHO and I am heartened at current sp support over 20p .... it is well deserved on all that may come.

I didn't bring up the GC someone else did all I said is this is not the same and that getting to the finals of the GC was not a failure though yes we did not win it... it is not like we are in for CEPI funding cuz we are in some final... no we know we have something that they back that is all we do not even know if scancell have approached them.

I however see nothing wrong in looking at the CEPI option as it exists and that is that not bigging up hopes or anything it is a possible..

The most important news that can come from Covidity is the trial is on. then it will be down the vaccine to tick the vital boxes after which on positive results I think we all can agree further funding will not be a problem.

Certainly, the timeline means scancell having a second-gen potential 'universal' vax is still in with a solid chance so long as we do not hit the dreaded scancell timeline slip road .... the plan at the moment is for a bank of mRNA vaxs due to their success and ease of making such a bank around mRNA... of course DNA vaxs could also come into play...indeed one platform, could even be a 'gamechanger'

Yeah, scancell don't do many throwaway RNS's and in theory, they could have done a few already around Covidity one about how Covidity in pre-clinical studies gives better results than comparative vaxs at that stage etc...
Those Notts students will be ready to do their bit no doubts arms ready for that first jab on SKY tv :)

I have no doubts that scenario could play out.... 'Notts vaccine means we never need to have another Covid lockdown' headlines etc...

I also think scancell are not going to be refusing any further funds at any stage so long as of course they fit with overall strategy and do not include 'giving IP away' but if they fund further research and support current projects or bring in a partner for an acceptable deal then I reckon they take it no matter Gov/Cepi/pharma etc ...

I suppose on one hand if we can resist pharma as long as possible it could be much better for value in the long run as long as we get the right results... ImmunoBody/AvidiMab pep delivery package would then have to be worth many $billions surely with no low ball deals acceptable.
On the other getting a partner early dilutes risk and gives sp a mighty boost.

That sounds good Krafty so you are more for that than say a Roche turning up and partnering?...
Again any funding/support is going to be sp positive .... though I wonder what would be ideal...
BioNTech/Pfizer ... so that is/was/is a [partnership they have since done a COVAX deal whom I think have agreed to purchase x millions of doses .... we know this has been a good route for BioNTech mRNA is now mainstream etc they have a 50/50 deal with Pfizer they have and will do very well we also know Pfizer has decided it can go it alone in mRNA now...

I agree this shouldn't be a cause of disharmony on here, CEPI is just at this point an angle one we have a little glimmer of it being a possible not a given....

Fundamental is trial success as in the vax actually ticking all the trial boxes as we all know it does that we are going to be just fine...

So it is an interesting area what would be best? a pharma? Gov/CEPI a combination of all? one thing is for sure those funds and support will be needed especially to go past a ph1 now I have no doubts they will come on ph1 success but what would be best I dunno... what would others prefer to see?
Any funding would be sp positive but what would be overall best....

Also, we know GOV.UK is pro CEPI they are very much on the same page... so it fits that scancell being UK based are a good fit for such support and funding... the question then is... would we need a pharma partner? or at least so soon now they would be after IP... interesting situation to be in lets hope we get into it lol

Krafty exactly redmile would be happy IMHO for CEPI to come in... as it would be SP positive... novavax of course is a kinda dream scenario here however I doubt we get $300 million straight away ... if we get funding it will be support for ph1 and possibly around the development of jab alternatives..an area we know work is being done on..
Some think there will be no funding till ph1 shows results due to innovate funding for that however as CH says that is a small amount and looks like scancell are having to throw in some redmile funds to the mix too... there is always need for more funding so I reckon they will be actively seeking it and CEPI have shown willingness to fund at all stages .... look at HK uni they have supported them pre ph1 and now into ph1......

So reckon they could well put some of that $200 million for variant proof vaxs they have our way to get through ph1 and supporting research and then... of success to support further ph's all the way to final use.

I think some mentioned from yesterdays tweet when RG escaped the potting shed about our vax being described as a booster I think that is right we would be in the booster sphere... it looks like there will be mix and matching with vaxs Sally said as much in that conference I linked to.... due to the need for so many to get vaccinated you may well get a few different vaxs in the future ... I think the most important thing now is.... the trial! We need that 'weeks' that was weeks ago to be now now... let's be having it already :) you can't let a chance like this pass you by and goodness knows scancell have suffered from that enough
