Well, the total recorded volume for all buys & sells since the start of September amounts to about 160 million shares. Just saying..

Now I've had time for last nights beers to evaporate away into the distance, I've been giving some thought to the announcement yesterday of Dai-ichi purchasing their 230m shares since the announcement on the last day of May. If for example, Dai-ichi started buying the day after the announcement and purchased an equal amount daily, they'd have bought around 2.64 million shares, per day. A quick look at M&G average daily volumes over the last three months comes in at 5.64m. That would mean that, around 47% of the average daily volume, would be connected to Dai-ichi's dealings. Is there any way these shares can be purchased without being reported? As it's stated as 'on market' purchasing, I don't believe it can. It'll be interesting, to me at least, the volumes for M&G moving forward and how the SP performs. To me at least, it looks like Dai-ichi might take a break for a while, as it's now that they've decided to announce the purchases. Be interested on anybody's thoughts on this?...

I don’t pretend to even contemplate how you go about acquiring over 230m shares in a single company, particularly without anyone noticing. Maybe they’ve been accumulated over a length of time and only today declared the purchase? The sheer volume would shortly have been like a massive flag waving in the wind if it was all today?…

Personally, I don’t think yourself, Fisher or I have done anything wrong Caroline. A lot of people mention other shares on different forums. Sometimes it can be advantageous to people and peoples wealth. I have helped others in this way and been helped in return. Hardboy can always skip our posts, or if really offended, filter one or all of us if they so wish. There’s far worse bull going on, on some sites.

If you do listen. For me, the key points to watch for are:

Are they still projecting the same ASP (average selling price) and also, the profit margin. I think on the units they’ve projected (10588 at last count), they’ll need to hit about 12.6% to achieve that £424m of pre tax profit. Quite some way up on the H1 figures.

The magic figure in monetary terms for this was £523.3k. Actual spend £636732. That equates to around 22.47% of the trading volume on Friday (1.311m shares traded) including the UT and after hours trade of 210k shares, with a weighted price of £2.1612. Excluding after hours trades it's 26.75% That must surely have a serious play on the SP if continued. Particularly, with a lean trading day or two, or volumes drop off. A race to results?....

Hope you are well! Some interesting businesses there, and I am in, or have been in, most in the recent past. CSN, bought into when they announced the HSBC purchase. Since moved on, but only as you have done here, taking a nice profit. Their acquisition should stand them in good stead moving forward imo. As you have done that, taken a nice profit here, is that something you carry on intending to do? If so, along with researching MNG it might be worth a little time looking into AV & PHNX too, unless you have already? Just my opinion but, I believe the peaks and troughs might be more advantageous than in the more steady and reliable, L&G (maybe not at the mo) and MNG. I suppose it’s all about what you’re after? Leave that one with you.I currently have a position in three of those. TW hold their presentation next week, so, hoping to pass some comment on that if they have something of interest to discuss. Hold PSN along with NWG. How deep do you delve into the analysis if I might ask, and how long have you been viewing the forums? Nice one here btw, maybe it’s us who should be learning from yourself.

Me neither, this is my trading pot. I’d be happy with a 20.3% gain. So, £2.49 would be my happy target, which, I do not think is to adventurous.

PSN....I'm averaging down buy/sell/trading other shares such as RIO, BHP, AV......what ever trading value for a quick profit.

I managed one here, letting my £11.37 go and bringing the average down by 20.5p. I think it’s the way forward for the time being? Not increasing holding though, just ave down. TW presentation next week. For me, and most relative to PSN are the units TW are shifting, if they touch on that. I shall have a gander at the rest of your post. I’ve just dumped a load of figures on OTB forum…

I've invested in a few companies due to the buybacks and the potential that they can bring Xhita.

The last being the Prudential and the potential return to shareholders of 74p over a 18 month period, along with potential implications for dividend payments. That along with the expected 60% of MCap that IAG are expected to return over the next 5 year period. The biggy with those two was a return of excess capital to shareholders. Is this likewise or a more foolhardy approach. Yes, theres the 90m of net cash floating about but, returning two years of profits in a 12 month period, I'm not so sure I'm as comfortable here. I'd be interested in yours, or anyone else views on this. And once the buyback is completed, what might happen moving forward. I guess we shall have some insight on the 2nd of the December.

As for this buyback.The average I have over the first two days is £2.166, buyback price. £24.07m still to go. If things remain at a constant, that should, all things being equal, propel the SP to £2.346p. A 16.6p gain from the £2.18p I started at. The dividend, a £4.7m return would turn today's 3p into 3.23p by my reckoning. A 8% gain.

I had the previous £25m buyback at an average of £2.377, just for reference.

I made two purchases here early on yesterday at an average of £2.07.

I've also been looking into shares held by insiders and Institutions and the available float remaining. It seems relatively low to me?

My thoughts exactly Xhita. At this rate, the £25m buyback will be completed by the time they report on 02/12, if the rate from yesterday is continued. That'll be £54.7m returned to shareholders in a 12 month window. That is massively unsustainable. What is the plan moving forward here, and why the push to complete the buyback so quickly?

Sold STAN yesterday and moved it into OTB first thing this am. Spent a lot of time going through some figures last night for them. Profits, buybacks, etc. They’re being really aggressive. This little gamble, I’m now going to give it a year and see where it goes, end date is 09/07/26..
