My house sale is due to complete in the next 10 days at the third attempt, so will be more than happy to get back in here at these levels after having to sell out my original holding at 26p to cover recent expenses while I wait for funds. Bought in at sub-10p previously and will be more than doubling up on my previous position for a long term hold here.
The current market malaise is providing some decent buying opportunities and I still have my full ISA allocation for this year to use too, so timing could be fortunate for me.

The volume here is very low, as always.
Hardly any change today compared to recent times.
It's a real stretch to suggest that ukog holders are taking profits and putting it in here.

I'm more concerned with LSE reporting ANGS as being 30% down for quite some time this morning.
Their regular 'false' reporting of the SP here around the open is more likely to cause panic for some investors, as it regularly seems to show an opening position wildly different to the actual SP.
Maybe the LSE system needs its morning coffee to get started, just like I do!

The market is NEVER informed as to whether a trade is a buy or a sell upon execution, regardless of what happens when anyone places a trade.
This is very clear in the MiFID II regulations for trade reporting and is widely known within the markets.
There is NO attempt to cause confusion.
If PI's cannot trust their own research and make decisions based on jittery concerns from the direction a trade is reported then they should just stick clear of investing, especially in high risk markets like AIM.
There is no responsibility with PI's, it is always someone else's fault, corruption, MM games, manipulation ,etc

To be clear this is a European Directive which covers ALL European markets. Hundreds of thousands (millions?) of trades every day must be reported to the market within seconds of execution (with some exceptions) with the required reporting parameters agreed.
There are (from memory) some 150-odd different fields included in any transaction report (made T+1 to the regulator - not all are used depending on the transaction type) and only 15 or so are required at the point of execution.
It is NOT a quick fix. It is NOT simple.
Dozens of exchanges, hundreds of investment firms/brokers all taking orders on competing trading systems that are not compatible with each other and process trades differently in different formats that cannot be easily collated in a matter of seconds to give 100% accurate information to the market in the format needed, unlike the conversion of information to the required format for transaction reporting to the local regulator for T+1.
MiFID II took 2 years to implement and the rules around trade reporting will not be changed any time soon.

Believe the myths and legends if you want, some will always choose to and will perpetuate them as being factual, especially as the majority will just blindly accept any reasonable explanation.
Just like some will never accept any factual explanation as there will nearly always be examples that suggest a different 'truth'.
The exception does not make the rule.

The direction of all executed trades is NEVER reported to the market at the time of execution.
All sites that post up these trades use algos to try and interpret the actual reported data in order to give a best efforts 'guess' as to the direction.
The actual reported fields are all detailed in MiFID II regulation, ironically introduced to improve transparency.

Your actual buy was most likely reported as a sell due to the trade price vs bid/offer at the time of execution being too close for the tools sites like this use to try and determine the direction, or some other reason. NOT MM games, despite what others will likely say about them deliberately moving the spread to try and distort the information being reported.

It is really not something worth getting upset about, it is only ever shown as a guide due to the required timelines to notify the markets of all executed trades and will have zero impact on the bid/ask
The actual trade direction is only ever reported to the regulator as a transaction report within the separate timelines

Many LTH's here were realistically expecting to see the SP many multiples higher in 2019 on the back of the WN test.
The 'unforeseen' good results only resulted in multiple leaked placings, more than 2 years delay in getting anything going again, and the knock-on effects and planning issues elsewhere means that more than 2.5 years on we are still 'only' delivering on 1 front rather than the 3 fronts the majority of posters here reasonably expected.
Hence the SP where it is.

It has to be called out as a very poor return for investors given expectations of shareholders and management since 2019.
It is difficult to see how anyone can defend UJO on this performance whatever the extenuating circumstances.
Still positive for a return, but I see it as at least 2-3 years away, maybe more, depending on what happens with the other assets, which is uncertain at best.
And as ever on AIM, fully funded means nothing, no matter what anyone tries to tell you.
Firmly in the bottom drawer for me.
No amount of desperate ramping from the resident apostle (trader) will change this, nor will the prolific deramping.

The big question is, does DB still have the appetite to deliver on additional fronts?
I fear not. I also fear a misguided foray into some other 'opportunity', or stake-building in another asset that will be years away from coming good, if at all as a means of deflection.

I read the entry under section 2 to mean that they had a total of 12.5m Cash-settled derivatives, all of which were short positions.

But how do you know that he is "clearly spending all day every day working towards (a big deal)"?
That statement is just the opposite side of the coin to what you accuse other posters of suggesting AB does all day.
The truth, as ever, is likely to be somewhere in between what the 2 camps keep saying, but for sure, the whole team will be working hard.
As a company, the management will be working towards developing their product(s), forging partnerships, growth, stability, profitability.
The pace is not quick enough for some, understandable given the pronouncements from last year, but for me in any case, there is no reason to change my view of AFC as a whole as an investment, so happy to hold and await news.

The 2 sides constantly playing off of each other here day after day and trying to score points, or discredit the other side is tiresome.
No rationality in much of what is posted here, some level-headed and respected posters aside.

The only benefit of AB taking shares from his own pocket would be that some small cap fund managers will only look at a company where management have a personal stake and are aligned with their shareholders.
It shows confidence and belief that management have in their company and suggests they are here for the long term giving the company stability.
Personally, not that concerned, but some see it as important.
It's more about the sector coming back into favour and some wider confidence in the markets in general that will have an impact on the SP here. Along with tangible signs of progress and growth, of course.
A chunky director buy would give the SP a boost, but would it hold without additional good news?

A previous poster stated that Shell would not touch this with a barge pole.
I was merely pointing out that we signed an off-take agreement coming up some 18 months ago with the very same company.
So, clearly a false statement as they are more than happy to take all the gas that is produced.

Not trying to suggest that they would want to buy SFB, but to use an example of something from 5 years ago is not great evidence as to their thinking now, Shell have clearly moved in a new direction in that time.
Hell, 3 years ago ANGS were not even considering gas and were under a completely different management faffing around with Brockham, etc.
Things change.
And do not discount the strategic positioning of SFB either

But the off-take agreement for the entire production from the Saltfleetby Gas Field is with Shell Energy Europe Limited, a division of Royal Dutch Shell plc (per 12/08/20 RNS)

Sadly, this happens with many companies, not just exclusive to AFC.
Hopefully, AB has learned from this, and will not overcook the possibilities here going forward.
As with many similar companies, in many sectors, the market becomes wise to all this after a while.

Just do not expect huge rises, and multi-bags here on good news.
Unless the sector comes sharply back into focus, any rises on news will be more muted, although hopefully, sustainable.

It is the quality of the bidders though that is key.
If the majority are in a similar vein to Sound, and there is no cash element to any offer, it could be a case of 'same old'.
Preference would be a full cash offer. Surely a mid-cap or bigger has deep enough pockets to not even notice the cost to buy out ANGS.

It does beg the question, with so many interested parties, why the need for a 20% discount for the placing. If SFB is such an 'in demand' asset, surely a premium could have been achieved.
Concerning when supposedly this close to first gas too, although the target date seems to slip back further every month, and will be close to 18 months later than expected, if early Q2 happens, and some 16m(?) raised, considerably more than ANGS informed shareholders their portion would be. ANGS original estimate for reconnection (per 19/06/2019 RNS) was £2.25m - £2.5m !!

Not the progress anticipated in the 3 years (and 1 week) since GL's appointment and the clear move in a new direction, but continuing disappointment sadly not much of a surprise.

The next couple of months are key with SFB. I have been saying this for the last 15 months now though !!
