Argus1 still posts most days about large buy trades (but never the large sells), and the rise in the price of oil (but never the drop), but he has also taken to 'bigging up' ukog by showing that it is not as bad as a.n.other share using careully selected (non-standard) SP timelines to try and make his point.
The extra shares in issue here now will detract from his comparison to UJO as being in a a worse situation sonewhat, seeing as ukog is catching up fast on that front

Funny who has been seen to be right with their comments over the past 2 years or so, and who of the non-stop abuse, name-calling die-hards have mysteriously disappeared.

Would it be right to assume that AFC will have some fairly prominent advertising on 'track' and perhaps their logo on the cars themselves?
The team pictures online at present only seem to show the team names along with 'Extreme E' and 'Continental' logos on the cars.
Looking at the broadcast partners, there is the potential for huge audience reach

I look forward to the positive spin on this from the usual along with unhappy posters being told to sell if they are not happy.
"At least it's out of the way", "fully funded", etc

And don't forget the comparison of number of shares in issue to other shares to highlight that 'ukog is not as bad as they are'

Fair enough, Klunk, but seeing as the last update on AlkaMem (I believe) was from a June RNS, investors could have expected some additional news on this some 3 months down the line.
Apologies if I have missed something more recent on this.

I must admit that I am not really 'au fait' with regard to the takeover rules.
I have only just taken note of some of the requirements following all the Form 8.3 and 8.5 notifications during the recent (failed) AA bid, so not aware of any Director obligations in this regard.
I often find the FCA rules a minefield of conflicting information, despite having a working knowledge of a lot of the various rules, but I can't see anything specific to Director obligations in the Takeover Code. I am sure there must be some restrictions in place as to what they can or cannot say/do, though, hence the need to appoint an independent adviser.

I also thought that the timing of the announcement was odd, as well as the method (RNS).
Surely they will have known for some time that they would be presenting at the conference, so this update could have been given earlier?
Although the RNS was welcome, the fact that there was no new news for the market makes it feel like an opportunity missed, assuming there was not anything new in the presentation.
Hoping that the presentation will at least be made available (if not already done so).
Seems we are never happy whether they communicate, or not!

Do you subscribe to those particular odds for SF (circa 6:1), or do you have a different view on the potential SP for a successful operation at SF? What is your average here?
I have always been more cautious, and looking at the lower estmate from the CPR, but with the news over this year, the CPR, the off-take agreement, and now the proposed funding, I would hazard that the odds of success are perhaps more aligned with the lower estimate now (albeit with the possibility of some time slippage and additional expense).
As mentioned in my previous posting, I am only interested in SF, although, obviously am aware that any news (good or bad) elsewhere will have an impact.

The lack of any real comment (other than in the RNS) from the bod over the past 5 days is quite mystifying, really.
Also, I would have expected to hear some comments for/against this deal from the larger shareholders, or some high profile Fund Managers - perhaps they are holding fire until the vote is announced before letting the market know their position on this deal?
The media both here and in the U.S. all seem to be reporting as this is done and dusted though

Was lucky to sell a few at 292 last Friday, and was hoping for something nearer 400 on any bid. Will give this until next Friday for some updates, or further developments before deciding whther to sell the remainder of my position.
Lets hope for something concrete, if not today, then over the weekend

I looked here out of curiosity today following almost a week of Andy's posts on another board telling folk to sell up in that particular 'dog' for the 'guaranteed pot of gold' he was telling everyone was expected here today.
Truly shameful behaviour, especially with his comments in the post this evening.
Don't know the company, but feel for genuine holders here. Hope it comes good for you.

The IQ's were only put up today. Per their IQ guidelines, they could stay open until the next deadline date on 20/10, and not be answered until 30/10 (not today), but as per my earlier post, hopeful that we will get a response on these prior to then. News is expected on these fronts anyway in the coming weeks.

My understanding is that a shareholder vote is required within 10 working days of the board announcement of any deal. Is this correct?
Not sure if I have missed something on this in the RNS

I seem to recall a poster on here telling everyone for the past week or so to sell this dead duck and invest in Katora Gold as a blockbusting RNS was due today which would send the SP into the stratosphere.
Their proposed deal has been delayed, and the SP is currently down 20% (currently) as a result.
These 'I called it' merchants who like to spout their superior investment knowledge on every board are not as savvy as they like to make out.

I suspect we will hear something on all these points prior to their 'normal' timeframe for answering the IQ's (which would be by 30/10).

JH is now trying to point out how undervalued NCYT is, yet only an hour early was commenting: "NCYT @ nearly 600p over £400M MKT cap yesterday and GDR @ 90p £50M MKT cap i felt GDR offered good value".
So, GDR must be great value with news of sales plus other newsflow imminent?

2 recent trades for 10.7m shares (circa £20k each, but I would hardly cal those 'huge'.
