I am reeling a bit today. That type of loss ( my responsibility) is more than 55% down and a humungous paper drop. I expect mm’s will bring it further down but shorters had better be careful if they enter. GM is not noted for his market proactivity so I doubt a buyback but agree it is prudent. He just tends to let things be and does not seem to understand the nature of market proactivity. Crucial. And a crucial failing. He darn well needs to pull his finger out this time. An efficient company does not equate to a healthy stable share price. Building outside-govt contacts and contracts. Building a new reputation outside govt. coffers. I suspect he will do nothing . I hope to be wrong.
I expect the market” trying it on” to extricate remaining holders on Monday. They usually do. Shame as it’s at a total giveaway price right now and a steal for private or instis. T/O? No idea. I hear it all the time with companies and it doesn’t happen.
I am braced for further pain but know it is market doing what it does.

The govt. is also comfortable with margins of error. They want the economy up and running. They don’t really give a hoot about much else. The scandal about hospital corridor patients defies the HIppocratic oath but they did it. Care homes? Not worth mentioning. Schools are only a priority in order to allow people to work and keep kids off streets. All the bo*****s about the value of missed education?? I work in it. Too many other things destroy it more than covid. Kids needed to go back for their mental well-being really. This govt. ( like most) is highly duplicitous. I would dare say more than most. I resigned my membership last year because of Boris. There are some brilliant MP’s ( like mine) but the Boris-led crew are not what you see. Boris’s rhetoric is so blatant. Makes Tony Blair seem a genius. So...yes....we don’t know all the connivings going on to save money. They want to be re-elected. Governments don’t get re-elected on ailing economies and this economy has 3-4 yrs catch-up.
I hope Nov win their case with a passion.
But I fear we have more enduring of financial pain as shareholders so all realistic support is bl**dy welcome here!

I have always liked your posts. Balanced and informative. I took a humungous hit today. Caused a lot of family friction.
If Nov were on the brink of liquidation I would be very worried. Yes it is a game changer but -even though I think the market may well take advantage next week-the company is a techno-wizard and embracing a plethora of markets. I think it will take time to recover now though. That hurts. The govt. problem is very much to do with tightening the belt. In my school lft’s are chaos and sometimes 60-90 kids sent home on a false positive. Joke really.
I have lost £40k today on top of £38 before. Very bad. But my bad.
But I welcome measured positive comments and not hell and high water £2 jobbies. I don’t get these people. Need to grow up. Look at facts. Q1was 50% govt. Still a profitable company without. Sadness hits me that it may now take time. Takeover?? Really no idea. I am crap at speculating . Still trying to recover from today.

( Having lost a few friends to covid I’m still reeling from the guy who doesn’t realize that covid coronaviruses cannot be invented! You can’t create them. This one C19 came from an animal/human mutation in one place in Wuhan. Covids constantly mutate . Because covid is unpredictable so are the tests. And other needs. Clear visibility is impossible.
We may see the market eke more blood from the share price . We have to be prepared for this. But a 30 % drop ..is it justified after a 45% drop in January.

So is one single DHSC contract ( already dismissed by most of us anyway) a good reason. Markets overreact both ways.
And they are corrupt and shorted at will.
Many have sold . A good thing. ( not meant personally) . It clears the shareholder base and allows new entrants at some stage. I am in pain but it does not affect my” visibility”.
This contractual dispute has been going on a long time. How could the company communicate until it was public knowledge?
It is large lost revenue but I have no doubt that a great many further markets are being explored. And the 2020 and 2021 revenue may be affected. Not definite.
And yes I do believe the BBC was put up to it. My son works for them and they have implicit govt. contacts. He cites them to me and tells me what is in a “Boris forecast” before it even goes in the media.
I’m on a heartbreaking loss but I don’t give in to a corrupt market unless the company is likely to go under. Nope.

I now hold a very very large ampunt and may pay the price to a degree if mm’s continue to play. But nothing has changed except one large contract which was dubious anyway and I for one also took it as a given that the govt. would opt for the dodgy cheap option. I am now losing a stupidly large 5 figure sum but was not going to let it sit there . Ncyt have cash and no debt and a growing range of products. The govt was never going to be reliable.
Ifmm’sxor shorters latch on ( another govt. permissible scandal) then so be it. It’s what they do.
I’ll ride it out.

There is truth in even the most contradictory of some of these posts. Carl speaks truths about the company and also brings spirits down unnecessarily too. Not needed. Others suggesting selling out and thatvthiscprice is fair value are however promoting deception. Sure there is optimistic ranting on this chatboard. A lot of sometimes irrelevant stuff but also a huge amount of uplifting informative stuff.
I firmly do not believe that this is fair value. I believe the shares have been bundled and sold on to traders houses. They are making daily profit and keeping the share deeply rangebound. It is absolutely not market value but people can believe whatvthey want.
It’s our duty to be realistically optimistic here though. Realistically.

Seems Ncyt have “farmed out” bundled shares for institutional trading. These can then be rebundled and sold on. See RNS.
Synairgen did exactly the same March to July last year. Many ended up with a large trading house in California. Blackrock probably doing all sorts of things rebundling that we can’t have a clue about as well. Another world.
Nothing will alter here unless Ncyt ( or Blackrock) want it to.
Ultimately much of this is speculation. But when you see how the tradrs are managed it is plain b***dy obvious.
My cynical side also tells me Ncyt is complicit. But maybe that’s just me. But they certainly don’t give a **** about shareholders . Bottom of food chain.
