Can’t see that it’s not PCR.
Germany introduced compulsory tests for all entrants from Poland today.
IMO this will extend to other countries like France/Italy etc.especially due to the variants involved. Testing is the only way forward and the Fat Lady ain’t gonna sing this year.. certainly!!

I will this week get another letter off to Boris and the DHSC about LFT’s in school.
It’ll lead to little but at least I do something.
LFT’s in school are a reflection of utter lack of understanding of how schools and parents operate. And 58% efficacy is outrageous and should be addressed.
My experience of Boris and hos administration is that they do not take anything on board though. Even back-benchers like my MP.
In the role of his actual job ( not as a person) I hold him in contempt.
He has cost many many lives and is ignorant of society and schools.

As someone who has been politically involved via my MP with almost all the areas you mention....( even my Con. MP signed a petition to remove Cummings) and having resigned my own Party membership because of Boris.....I absolutely could not have put it better than you have myself. Great accurate post. Via my MP I wanted Bozo about Airports in April ( no change affected)..and warned him in November about the January crisis if he allowed Xmas. Not rocket scoence. I saw it lear enough. As did my MP. My MP also supported thr care homes debacle in Lockdown 1.
The vaccine momentum has been praiseworthy but probably has npthing to to with this idiot in charge.
I personally have known few PM’s who I consider have handled a crisis more inefficiently and with blatant stupidity. Tony Blair’s Weapons of distraction was scandalous and tantamount to murder..and led to the formation of Al Qaeda and IS. But he had an agenda.
Boris is just plain bl**dy incompetent at the job and is just a political player. Not a wise leader.

Reading today’s news and Prof . Tildesley’s advice ...the most important thing right now is to stop people travelling. If Bozo allows May 17th holidays then we might as well accept another wonter lockdown with the 4 new dangerous variants ( out of thousands of c19 variants as they mutate regularly) which have been proven to bypass some vaccines. SA/France/Brazil /UK . More variants to come . 3 European countries have put AZ vaccines on hold. Tildesley says it is undermining global confidence in vaccines.
Variants have now made the way out of covid much much more complex. Hence the need for pcr diagnostics to isolate the variant. Nov ticks all the boxes and Boris should be put inside one.

Mass testing is not happening. Testing is almost non-existent. Track and trace has been largely abandoned and usedcin name only. Kids wear masks indoors but not outdoors. Social distancing does notvexist in reality. LFT’s when used have such a low reliability rate (65% I am told) that they are next to useless as a preventitive or diagnostic. But you see they are cheap and Boris is not known for his propensity for wise decisions. Honestly! Apart from the vaccine his history is disgraceful and I welcome a full enquiry post covid. ( he will likely wrighle out like T Blair did with Weapons of Mass Distraction) but he has been shameful.
He asserted that schools were 100% safe in December. I as a teacher was appalled as I live knowing the truth and that he was just fabricating for personal political use.
He was proved wrong anyway.
Pubs and clubs and schools -and first and foremost social gatherings - are statistically the highest transmitting environments.
To use proven sub-standard LFT’s in schools is another disgrace. Useless.
And believe me....parental use and student use is simply even more untrustworthy and reliable.

Late drift? Generally speaking many institutions and mm’s don’t like to be too long over the weekend. And took profits at £7:85p. Yes Fireblade...played like a fiddle. Always is. But the dip on the lse was fairly predictable. Intrigued why it held firm on the Bourse.
I expected it so it was no surprise. Most Fridays it sags anyway.
Am relying on others’ optimism here to keep me buoyant. Thank you. Still £1 30 off breakeven on a very large sum but the red number is getting smaller:-)

Ncyt is not just a covid tester . 550+ tests. Global market.
The understandable wholistic focus on covid does it no justice . But it’s understandable. We have become a pathogenic-threatened world again. First time probably since smallpox ...polio. Ebola was fairly localised. The 1980’s terror of Aids as pandemic only materialised in uneducated societies who refused to take measures. We have now woken up again to the reality of mankind’s oldest battle. Flu killed more people in 1917 than the war. Smallpox more than all wars recorded. Black Death killed 1/3 of Europe. Now we have a modern version. But we have technology to beat it. But I personally believe we have years of social changes and adaptations ahead. Effects of 9/11 are permanentbon travel. Perhaps same here.
Either way...to get back to our investment...evolving technology including testing as a constant are the only way to put us back in charge.
I am not in SNG ( no cash or I would) but its proof of interferon beta vs. cancer and copd and all coronaviruses is another example. I am only in Ncyt but they are in the field of evolving technology. The only way forward. Hold or buy .

Back in school today. First day after received aZ 2 weeks ago. Made me more ill than covid did!
Not that much changed. Upper School . Masks obligatory indoors. Not outdoors.
No social distancing except from teacher who must stay at desk. I also teach PE. Unchanged except no changing rooms. Come already changed. One way system indoors. No testing ( LFT or PCR) unless symptomatic.
At present after 10 days no issues but we’ll see. Not long enough to know and summer is coming anyway.
If spike then it’ll be in parents etc in 2-3 weeks. May not happen. Vaccine already protecting the vulnerable.
Interesting to see where we will be in November. This is the beginning of most transmission but we will be fully vaccinated as will Europe . And USA.
To me July will be the pivotal point when Boris decides about safety measures as this could lead to another sutumn spike .
And the constant tweaking of the vaccines against mutation will be open-ended ...and it can only rely on testing. Random/asymptomatic/symptomatic. Particularly IMO at international travel points. Inc ferry and tunnel crossings ( if they are going to really be sensible fgs) and of course airports. Has to be PCR.Price of testing has to come down and will.They cannot kill the freight or travel/holiday businesses. The gold-standard tests must become cheaper ( which they will) and quicker. 80 minutes too long IMO at travel points.
GM has shown today that his priority is to adapt to covid evolutionary society.
I for one am still in the dark as to who is going tobtest and where.Airports? Offices? LFT’s? PCR’s? I saw none today..

Lagging allows the chumpty numpties to buy cheap and depress some investors into selling cheap though. A century old strategy ( even used in Wall St. in Twenties and since). If a stock is deeply undervalued it is worth gritting teeth and holding for however long .
