Again clutching at straws. Is HZM in the FTSE 350 index? No it isn't so why compare apples with oranges?
Even if I was to accept your argument is HZM affected by Russian sanctions? No is the answer.

Guess what Rio Tinto, Glencore, Polymetal that I know of are affected by Russian sanctions - there's 3 out of 10.

I am afraid I beg to differ you results are skewed because you pick and choose your dates to suit.

Why Pick August and not the peak of the AIM index and HZM n September? I think because the figures do not look as bad. If you are going to compare it is best to compare apples with apples Maverick.

So let us see.
HZM 24/09/2021 - a few days after the euphoria of the credit export agency approval, price was 223.02. Today HZM closed @ 109p which means a staggering 51.13% fall in 9 months

AIM Index - 03/09/2021 - Price was 1310.15. Today AIM Index @874.59 which is a fall of 33.25%
You want to pick the same date for the AIM index as the HZM high? Makes no difference to me. 24/09/21 AIM Index was @1266.98 compared to today this is a fall of 31% even worse for HZM.

So in summary a fall of 51% for HZM compared to a fall of the FTSE AIM All share index of 31-33%.

Whichever way you look at it - HZM an apparently very good opportunity has massively underperformed the AIM index by 21-22% since September.

Shorting would be a convenient excuse - But it is not - The reasons are far more fundamental

unfortunately - Cant decide whether it is being dragged down by markets or whether this has something to do with the price of gas going up and threats by cuts to the supply by Russia - in any case I added at 0.77p as I think longer term prices about 1 pound will be achieved

Some good macro stuff there but it depends if you are willing to tie up capital waiting for 2030 or so. He talks about copper well let me tell you something you may or may not know. Copper is a leading indicator of a recession. Guess what it's been 26% down since March this year. Look at the COVID lows of copper. I believe we need to get first to prices at least prior to COVID and then we'll see.

I have set a buy order for 62p for ITV. It may go down to 50p as the carpet baggers here wait but hey ho these are bargain prices and hopefully in time 70p will be re-established. DYOR

I had a target for June of 90p - It hasn't quite happened but John Burford's analysis gives me hope. 150p here we come - Old energy and British Gas back into fashion now all the minnows have exited. I just hope they are securing their winter supply now at depressed nat gas prices
