Never understood why it hasn't been explained that it's capping KW price, which is what I believe it is? Though, I don't really understand how people can think they will cap total prices, rather than KW, it's insane. Just let's people use as much as they want, which you would get a lot of and in a energy crisis wouldn't have been smart.

One article mentioned benefiting from coming out of COVID / russian war as unusual profits. Got to laugh at that. Oil is below ish the OP back in Feb! COVID destruction is being used to rinse them. Hope o&g fight it, if it means they are lowering there normal profits and using COVID in the mix!

Not sure if mentioned, but russian embargo ( if it goes ahead) and China actually opening up properly and stopping every other day lockdowns is bullish for oil. There is also a balance where oil becomes attractive to use for generating electricity, due to issues at the mo, that could also help increase a potential floor.

Ste2000, that's an even better plan. Maybe Anacott could also get some hotels created wherever they are and then buy them off THG and charge rent for the small office room out back, but only people from this board get to stay for free

Anacottsteel1, I think you will have to stay on holiday for 6 months and continually drink, then you can come back once we have sold out, if you don't mind.

It's alright, they probably have been shorting the pound and everything else against UK, just like the big donors did during Brexit. Everything's going to plan, just not the plan they said outside of private talks ;)

Good points. I have probably not thought it through. In my head I was thinking that they help get things going , securing renewable zones and getting a bit of the pie, but not major percentage ownership, but giving incentives for companies to join up, but more stipulation on using UK companies to get it running or some such and this would I hope shield them from more WT etc and help with the negative press atm, though maybe that's not possible. I feel like there is some benefits could be obtained for both sides here, I just find it frustrating UK selling off everything and a lot is owned by state owned companies around the globe.

Regarding funding and no real knowledge on it, I would maybe think something along the lines where the joining company pays for nearly most of it, then the gov does not get any profits until that amount is paid back ,,( there % low ish percentage ) with tax benefits or something. But I like the idea of lots of projects where UK has small stakes but beneficial ideas for both sides. I'm talking **** today lol

Labour have said they want to create a British energy company and then work with big companies to do joint stuff. This is what I was hoping the Tories would do, give companies and the UK incentives to make things better
