A global shortage, i seem to remember that the idiots took steps last year “to secure the UK supply”, you could not make this up, just weeks after the allowed the manufacturing capacity contract with ODX to expire the idiot states we are being hit by a global shortage, what a bunch of absolute idiots !!!

Just two months ago we were told they had 320m stockpiled now we are running short?

Unfortunately the ineptitude of the BoJo government has now caused a perfect storm with the UKHSA, the amount of times they have used the covid emergency rules to circumvent the normal checks and balances in order to make millions for their mates has exposed them to criticism, One of the major pillars of the Good law project’s case against ABDX is that basically the government gave them state aid and breached the “Principals of equality and transparency”

This means that now every government pen pusher is massively wary of exposing themselves to the same criticism, so the Uk diagnostics industry are pushed through the wringer with every i dotted and t crossed. Basically no one wants to sign on the dotted line for anything associated with the uk diagnostics industry ( probably why ODX DHSC contract was allowed to expire) because no one wants to put their name to anything for the risk of it getting cut off,)

No one is trying to undermine the company but you are deluded if you think the government will/can simply allow ODX to use the equipment, even if they have no use for it themselves

State funding rules still apply even after brexit, how would you feel if you were ABDX , surescreen, or other LFT test manufacturers if the government basically gave your direct competition £17m worth of equipment for nothing? They will need to take steps to “level the field”

@Twatcher, so use is not governed by the expired contract (although the end date of the contract was April 2022, before all the long stop expiration shambles.)

Government have not removed it in the prescribed time line,

So crack ODX can crack on and use it for their own orders, oh. they don’t have any orders that would drive the need.

We have leased the other building to house it, so costing us to keep it without a way of getting out of that obligation, what a Sh itshow, and Donkey is negotiating the next contract for use with them, god help us !!

…and the other issue is that the government will want to charge a levy on each test that is made on their equipment (as per the contract), which they are compelled to do so as not to fall foul of state funding support rules, and that throws up questions as to whether anything can be made on that equipment and still have a worthwhile margin

Unfortunately this is exactly what government departments do on a regular basis, the existing expenditure will have been accounted for, and basically forgotten about now, its only when they have to spend anything else will the question come to the top of someone’s inbox, and of course Donkey didn’t include any ongoing housing costs in the contract, but did commit to maintain the equipment, so ODX are providing the service free of charge

Compensation vs Earnings: Colin's compensation has increased whilst the company is unprofitable.

The remuneration of the Non-Executive Directors shall be a matter for the Chairman and the Executive Directors of the Board. No Director or manager shall be involved in any decisions regarding their own remuneration."

So we assume as they scale back to get control of costs, this committee will take action on the CEO remuneration appropriately.

More likely Donkey will get a pay rise, to counter the fact he cant take his share options with the SP at this level.

There is a distinct change in attitude by ODX when asked about future funds and placings

On Twitter on 22 March they arrogantly stated, "Let’s put those placing rumours to bed. For good. #InColinweTrust"

Now Donkey has changed his tune, we have, "would never provide comment on any speculation of future corporate activity."

In the Q&A the company states 25 time, when asked about Donkey's position and his resignation.

"The Company has acted in good faith in the relation to the DHSC contract and fulfilled its obligations under the contract. Colin is not going to resign and the Board is not seeking to find a scapegoat."

I think they have missed the point that most are upset with the long list of screw-ups not just the lasted debacle with the DHSC
