RE: So called investors19 May 2021 10:25
So who is to blame, Or what has gone wrong?
If we remain on the same trajectory investing in ODX for over a year would have put you in the red (May 27th 2021 -- SP=68p), with the best will in the world everyone hopes that the yearly return on an investment is positive, otherwise we may as well leave our hard earned in the bank and take the 0.1%.
The issue realistically is most Pi's that jumped on board with ODX last year were expecting to see a "world leading diagnostics company" make some money in the biggest health crisis we have seen in a century. We were told in the placing documentation of its intention to exploit the "Covid opportunity", but that simply hasn't happened but why ?
Its very unlikely to see a NCYT type rise now, when governments no longer have the appetite to throw money around like water with little or no consequence.
We all need to understand what ODX are, they are a small manufacturing company based on an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere (and a small building of a research park in Cambridge), they aren't an international mass production company, if fact i remember one poster on ADVFN referring to the Alva site as looking like a primary school science lab). So the ramp up to 2M a week capacity is no mean feat, but that is all it is capacity, without the demand for the manufacturing then it does look like the commercial decisions ODX have made in the last year are questionable to say the least, but worst than that for me, i think began to get drawn into their own hype.
UK-RTC had been a shocking example of how not to do business, only 175K test (less than one days of capacity) has been produced. and even that we haven't been paid for. Large scale antibody testing was never going to take off when the vaccine costs less that the antibody test to manufacture.
Visitect Antibody / ELISA have been a complete wast of time and effort
DHSC Contract if you read it in detail looks to be a reasonable contract for ODX operations, its a contract where all ODX expenditure in phase 1 can be recouped with an additional margin if 18%, so who would turn that down?, however phase 2 looks more and more unlikely to produce any serious revenue for ODX. It is clear now that Colin and the board knew exactly the likely outcome of the DHSC contract, and hence the dampening of the announcement and the subsequent suppression of the SP via twitter.
Mologic Antigen test, ODX have been shockingly poor in the delivery of the TT, taking so long has put them on the back foot with regards to commercial sales, Why have a seperate announcement around CE mark and commercial launch if there was nothing commercially to announce ?
Why no June trading update this year, of all years we would assume there has been a lot going on that warranted updating its investors on.
Warrant being described as a "Scam", the simple answer to that is probably not, questionable throughout, half-truths but nearly always never lies, apart from the "
