There are a number of facts that we know now that clearly show Mr King was being economical with the truth around the time that they signed the DHSC contract, The two weeks around mid February marked a distinct change in the message coming out of ODX compared to before and after that period. Well officially if you read both the governments and ODX press releases they have always stated the contract was to ensure capacity, nothing more. When the post-mortem comes the government will point us towards the official press release

and Colin will point to his dampening of the contract announcement when he warned the value of the contract should not be used to calculate its likely worth, in order to justify the situation and stay in a job.

But even with the dampening to put this statement out in February via RNS

whilst a large proportion of the directors were offloading, and then for us to arrive at 51p five months later, Colin can't really hide from that, with most things ODX you can be forgiven for trying to read between the lines and getting it wrong but this statement, coupled with the we will "deliver 2M tests per week this April" is plain english ramping to a criminal degree.

@Sonnets: Very conspicuous by his absence, I have only ever contacted him a couple of times, once regarding purchasing the Visitect Antibody test, and he basically said they would recommend the Abc-19 test instead and directed me to Abingdon, and the most recent was to enquire as to distributors for the Visitect Antigen test, i'm still waiting for that response, but it was only two months ago so no rush i would think !

Under 18s will not have to self-isolate
Javid says we are not currently offering vaccinations to most people aged under 18.

But the government wants to ensure they can get the life experiences that are so important to their development while keeping them safe from this deadly virus, he says.

In line with the approach for adults, anyone under the age of 18 who is a close contact of a positive case will no longer have to self-isolate, he says.

Instead they will be given advice about whether they should get tested, dependent on their age, and will need to self-isolate only if they test positive.
