Agreed SBP although could also be a different play, maybe one that hasn't been discussed yet? All conjecture I know, but about as constructive as we'll get until they enlighten us.

Not sure tbh Targaryen. If north sea comes first and aker are involved then it's possible they are recruiting. Could be completely unrelated but JD dates finish soon so must be for something in progress or imminent.

Any thoughts SBP? Possible link or too tenuous? JDs suggest working/advising on new projects to me.

Agreed SBP...did you check out the Europe ones, specifically Aberdeen? That's what I was asking irvinerd to take a look at. Might be wrong but to me don't seem to fit existing operations there.

Irvinerd, looks like you have a bit of knowledge in that area...check out their Aberdeen vacancies and see if you think they fit the existing set-up there? Not saying it's anything related to us but just curious as to whether those roles fit existing operations in that area?

Thanks Mainshare...so have they got existing contracts offshore there? Thought a lot of it had tailed off but just curious if they've still got contracts on the go.

Does anybody know if Aker have an existing presence/contract in Aberdeen? Random question but answers on a postcard (or this bb) welcome.

LT, my 'well done' to Rong was sarcastic as for once he actually produced some evidence. Not questioning your intentions and still believe we are lucky to have a significant shareholder taking the time to post on these boards. You do tend to fall into the trap of predicting specific news release dates of course but I'm sure you would be the first to admit that! The week is not out yet and, like I said, news in the next week or too still wouldn't make it a bad estimate from you and Wob.

Well done rong and yes, it is indeed there in black and white LT. The week still isn't over though so nothing to say Wob's source isn't accurate. Regardless of the outcome of this week, I still believe these two posters passed on what they genuinely believed themselves. If it was a pump then we would see a lot more selling and if we do then perhaps my faith in other holders may start to dwindle too.

At the end of the day though, if your mate who works 'in the City' whom you've known for years gives you a tip-off on a share, would you go and buy a shed load the next day? I would say about 50% of people would and others would be more cautious. Things can be passed on in good faith but timelines in negotiations of this nature and scale can change very quickly. All Wob and LT did was pass on some info they believed to be accurate and until the week is out may still prove to be so. Even if news comes next week it still wouldn't be a bad tip-off.

Until we see evidence of a true pump and dump I'm keeping faith in certain posters, though each to their own and, as always, we should hold only ourselves to account for our own decisions.

Agree it's the best we have in the absence of anything from source. Disagree about the tweets as still think they are better than silence and probably all that can be released at this stage, though do also acknowledge that they seem to be dividing opinion significantly.

SBP, I may be wrong but I don't believe the 6th has been cited definitively. This week certainly seems to be in favour but some of that is based on the fact that Alan has agreed to a meeting with LT next week and people are drawing the conclusion that he wouldn't do so without some kind of news having been delivered first. There are then those who appear to have sources stating this week....I for one will certainly not lose hope if it isn't this week. As seadog always says, the fundamentals haven't changed and for once we haven't received any timescales from the company that stand to be missed. Bloody hope it is this week but not banking everything on it, if that makes sense.

You might be onto something there Knightrider. Would definitely count as a curve ball and hopefully also put the placement question to bed this side of news. Would also explain that mysterious post front that rascal seadog this morning....he must be in mischievous holiday mode ;) May of course also be completely off the curve but would make sense on a couple of levels.
