Yea Jim800, had to look up the Conference separately to see when it was on. The link and video shd have given the Aug2024 source dates as well as article publication date, but I guess we're dealing with humans.

Roofer61, OPEC+ cut to their 2024 and 2025 Forecasts by teeny weeny tiny 80,000 and 40,000 boepd mainly because of China activity has allowed the thick algos to push share prices down. BP div now c 6% so will contain any drops.

Surely, the BoD would discuss and have to vote on such a large spend so all who voted Yes would be responsible ? Sounds like Corporate Negligence especially as others had offered far less, and there shd be punishments for such, it was a closed auction presumably ? All projects shd be justified using standard accounting techniques, eg have max bid price if an auction (not Rocket Science). BoD shd have to provide their Workings to justify such spend, surely larger II's would have enough cliut to demand it ?

Hedgehogg, you've a handsome amount invested here, potentially sell for £560k. Why not put some into oil ? HBR have great potential after recent takeover, BP is at 2 yr lows, both have good divs and oil is by no means dead !!

NeverMABI, thank goodness it's going up today. Friday's news that Miliband is reviewing Nuclear within Labour Govt overall Energy Plan caused much of the drop I guess. BAB also involved outside UK so if Miliband (a Zero carbons obsessive) does cut back UK nuclear demand then BAB can focus more abroad. I've oil shares as well and Miliband really annoys me, their EPT is a windfall tax and there is no more a windfall for oil and gas cos paying CT now of 75% soon to be 78% from 1/11/24. Labour lack morals and I hope there's an exodus from the North Sea and any other areas that Labour is dishonest to, even if there are large write offs.

Thanks Bernyberlingo, speculation speculation !! Seems that Milliband would be very unwise to curb the nuclear growth and I suspect he won't. And presumably Friday's drop was because of this speculation as well as the US falls ? HMG are bound to be constantly reviewing options.
