Genghis15, I meant 'positive' in the sense of rationality (as someone else suggested) rather than blind optimism, sorry for confusing you. There are essentially only two posting on this board who are pessimistic about DEC and their postings are not based on fact, but on negative emotion or for 'nefarious' reasons. The latter prompted my use of the word 'positive' !!

In87, Darktrace will still operate in the UK, not "the end of the road". It is simply Delisting from LSE. Re proceeds of sale from Thoma Bravo, your broker will receive the funds at US$7.75 per share either in US$ or GBP. I'd like to receive in US$ rather than GBP and wondering do I have a choice through Interactive Investors if anyone knows ? I suspect that our brokers will alert us after next Tues 24th Sep court hearing to authorise the takeover which is planned to complete on 1st Oct.

It is curious how all these very well paid and positioned people never seem to have enough, sad in one way considering the vast majority of us would never the £millions that they have and yet they always want more. Even your (not mine thankfully) new Labour (Party for the Working Man and Woman) PM's wife Lady Victoria no less receives £91,000 worth of clothes, knickers and bras maybe ?, free from a Lord Ali !! That £91,000 would feed 3+ avg families for a year and Labour have such high ethics..... !!

RazorsEdge, "Sit Tight", my very thoughts !! AngloGold sp nearly back to its $28.80 after the initial slump. Every 1% increase in AngloGold sp represents a c 1.5p increase for CEY shares, note that I wrote "for" and not necessarily "in" !!

Sparhawk, it'll be very interesting to see what does actually happen if this Ukraine war ends through a peace deal. There are so many cash deposits and assets tied up in Russia and in varying places in the West, under different jurisdictions and with different plans for use of the money. Some want the Russian funds frozen in the West to be used to rebuild Ukraine, but I believe there are legal challenges to that. Unilever has recently been given the Russian go-ahead to sell its Russia-based icecream businesses to a Russian company for c €400m in Rubles - it'll be interesting to see how Unilever receives and converts its proceeds !!

Redlse, ironically the banks/loan givers insist on hedges to 'protect' their loans, but there are many situations where hedges actually result in significant lost net income, and would be better if no hedges. Latter have risk and this was acknowledged by the DEC CFO. DEC is increasing economies of scale as it buys more wells closer to one another. Yes, it is a balancing act between Acquisitions, Buy Backs, Paying off Debt and Dividends !! This is not a share for the faint hearted, maybe Unilever or Tesco if you want a quieter life though they also have their excitements !!

TrojanHorse, I can't smell anything !! Simply looks like some potential investors are waiting to see what enfolds at next Thusday's AGM. There are still wars, and they'll increase in their demand for products supplied by BAB. Funds are probably also invested in other stocks showing current momentum, eg Tobacco, Gold, and those funds will return inro Defence and Aerospace soon. BA. and RR. have been rising again this week, even MEL which was downgraded.

Great news notrex. DEC will probably take a few years to get back to the £20 level, but the divs are a good support in the meantime. Amazing how good surprises can emerge unexpectantly as my small gold mine investment in CEY jumped this week. I wonder whether any of the large fund investors here are mulling a bid at c £15, yes it would mean cap losses for some of us but we'd have no choice in the matter. DEC Loans could be paid off and expansion speeded up. If loans paid off then less Nat Gas hedging wiser in a rising price market.... Que sera sera...
