BaysilHope, that EU President, she's a joke !! Europe and specifically Germany have really messed up by relying on Russian energy so much. Donald Trump, and I am certainly not a fan of his, cautioned 4 yrs ago at a UN meeting that Germany needed to reduce dependence on Russian energy and the German delegates were seen s******ing. Their attitude was, in my view, 'we're getting gas much cheaper than you are, we're not buying from you'!! Well !! Wonder what those German idiots think of it all today ?!! Pride before a fall...!! Anyway, thanks to those Germans we'll make some dosh here !!

retirment, we all have different strategies. Trading is more risky and requires more time and energy. Investing may not make as much dosh, though we've all heard about the traders who've lost mega millions and don't most CFD traders lose money, but it allows a less stressful life as long as the stock picking is good !! Even if a share falls by much more than the div, the investor can wait to sell in the future at a higher price even if well in the future whilst collecting divs. I can see BP going well over 500p late 2022 into 2023....oil and gas are too constrained.

PottyTime, thought Truss is against the Profit Levy and it's already increased the Overall Tax Rate to 65% for O&G cos so very foolish to push this any higher....Also, there's talk of Truss paying the diff between Capped amount and Actual cost to the Energy cos....

davef24, excuse my lack of knowledge but what kind of HBR shares or instrument are you in, what do you mean by £25 a point because I've no probs buying and selling the actual shares ? You might explain ?

bobocaca, though the employees buy at discounted prices, isn't their discount then assessable for income tax, eg one pays £10k less for the shares v current market price so then accounts for the £10k gained through Income Tax ? Just pointing out there is a cost to buying the discounted shares.

I'm happy with my 4.5% p.a. Div anyway which is only the icing on the cake !! The Cap Gains are the cake itself and they're growing nicely...!!

Beginnersluck1, answer to your question isn't a black and white one and I don't know as much as other investors herein. My understanding is that it is hoped by the major shareholders (see RNS's and Major Shareholder data) to do a Reverse Takeover between LSAI and another non- quoted profitable business owned by some of these LSAI major shareholders, think it is Medusa, which will allow the new combined quoted entity to avail of the very large Retained Losses within LSAI. However, some of the major shareholders are also major shareholders of ASOS which is having financial challenges currently. So timewise hard to know when value will be added !!
Anyone else out there care to correct my version or add to it ? Aimo amd Dyor !!
