Beats me why these already highly salaried people need to be further incentivised to do their job to the best of their ability (most basic contracts have that term even for lowly paid) which they should do anyway, just like £25m p.a. footballers receiving bonuses for scoring a goal (wow, that's their job anyway !!) !! The ex Chair of JD Sports to receive £5.5m for Consultancy and Severance Agreement over next 3 years !! Why aren't these people Windfall Taxed ? Sorry if sounding naive - I know about Greed /Money Obsession, sad people !! - and comments relating more somewhat to BP and SHEL WT/EPL, etc.., but felt like 'letting rip' here !! Money at high net worth level does not increase real happiness and contentment, some are realising that like the US Billionaire donating his USD3b to fighting climate change (announced recently can't think of his name), but sadly most arren't !!

I agree with most you say, but, per another msg below, I asked the question as to whether or not the War would stop with Putin dead. So I definitely do not 'You are basing everything on the assumption that if Putin goes, the war will end' !! There are arguments for both scenarios. ATB, Clued

Neil74, hope you're right !! Why should we lose out, sanctions imposed by Govts so businesses should be compensated by the relevant Govts. Putin assassination attempt 2 days ago, oh dear !!, so things may change faster than forecast. With Putin dead, would a successor continue with the war ??

spights et al, saw this article and first thought was 'shouldn't BP own 19.75% of that rather than a German state co owning 100% ?' Another article yesterday mentioned the £1.2b 2021 Final Div allocated by Rosneft to BP though transferring the dosh is another matter. Does Joe Public realise how much BP has effectively given / is giving to Russian charities whilst EU and others hypocritally continue to buy Russian oil and other products either directly or indirectly (from another party) ? BP should pursue the Final Div and ask Germany for their 19.75% stake considering that in Rosneft's books BP still owns 19.75%.

Cannot understand why this share is down recently, yes I'm aware of inflation, cost of living crisis, Truss new PM, status of Ukraine war, etc.. EU guaranteed continuing support for Ukraine this week, USA is also doing so, UK has confirmed increased Defence spend and support for Ukraine. Are there concerns that Ukraine's recent military successes may reduce BA. sales in near future ? Are there still concerns that Cost of Living Crisis Govt response may result in reduced Defence spend near term ? What do you all think ?

Still many good ratings for this share, but seems to be taking a breather. Scrip Div RNS today for 18.25m shares c 1.7% share issue will mean equivalent cash saving so couldn't be reason for drop today ??

Lokiloo, she and her overpaid EU cronies are now flapping about for a 'solution' to the energy crisis caused by her and her previous staff. At least one German minister has admitted their wrong over reliance on Russia, that I respect, but the EU management generally are learning as they go.....!!

MikeM14, also with ii !! I've an ongoing Case with them re wrong Daily movement figures and %s showing at end of each day on both Web and App, probably partly connected to today's issue. I've told them they need to change their software people and even Morningstar who supply their feeds !! Abrdn (owner of ii) probably trying to be penny wise pound foolish !!

POWER, also with the greatest respect, despite the lack of transparency (even dishonesty by fact/information omission), I cannot see Liz Truss, Joe Biden or any of the EU politicians going into a neutral country and doing what Putin has done. If latter was in a room with me, and I had the loaded gun, I cannot say that I would not blow his head off....!! He is at level 10 of evil politicians and yes he isn't the only one.
