What a crazy weekend. Then woke up early and BTC was at 101, checked in an hour or so later and it was new ath. If you're reading this successfully well done but I can't keep up. No Nasdaq today so will need to see what happens tomorrow.

Nice work, I missed it and can't bring myself to buy it now, but hopefully it fires up the sector for a parabolic phase. Trump will certainly be pro crypto now that it's making him billions. Will probably end in tears but short to medium term seems a good catalyst.

HC - yes I think you could be right there - QBT will have a higher valuation than Argo - incredible.

MB he's still waffling don't worry about that - mining with FPGA's - anyone else do this? Not that I've heard of. Pump the price - raise in the next two weeks for "further development" is my expectation.

BrewHaHa - completely agree that this is a setup for a placing. Buzzword bingo as usual and I'm sure a raise will follow to further develop this exciting development. Previously it used to be 270% or something, now it's 30% and using FPGA instead of ASICs - and reading the release it seems like the 30% gain is found by giving up on the block if it doesn't think it will solve it. That said, well done on anyone who got a bumper gain this morning.

Yeah agree it shouldn't be allowed as it doesn't give a level playing field - effectively a form of insider trading in my eyes. It makes sense that the profit is made by shorting, but when the shorts are closed does it not create buy pressure?

I've never understood how forward selling works. Does anyone understand the mechanics as we see this on almost every LSE placing?

The Tuesday news release says "dealings in the Placing Shares on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange will commence on or around 20 January 2025"

So my two theories are:

1) Someone wants to buy in large at a discount, and this suits both parties. However why the drop to placing price? It's a 5% dilution yet a 25% price drop and the shares technically don't exist yet.

2) A shady deal takes place where the shares are forward sold. The £2mil buyer (and/or brokers/mms) somehow forward sell the shares before the news release, making a nice low risk profit. How would this work if the shares don't exist yet?

As I said this isn't specific to GST, it's to do with LSE/brokers/MM's. Would love to understand what actually happens on these raises.

No update required, they've already said the hosting was ending. At the start of Feb, assuming they issue the monthly RNS, I would assume we get more info.

Arthur I think you're looking too short term on this. Price will go up and down on a daily basis, and raises are always annoying, but they've chosen to raise for a reason. So you either believe this is a good investment and it will be worth more in the future and want to hold on and profit, or you think it is not a good investment, in which case you should look to move on. I haven't enjoyed the 3.5 to 2p price action, but I'm holding on for better days that I think will come soon enough once this is fully digested.

Why 1.5 Arthur? It has already visited 1.9 as expected, why would it go lower? No logic there. The company is 2.25mil better off.

Suspect they just used 31 days to come up with that average figure even though they minerd for 28 days at Helios (but all 31 days in Canada - so it's valid to use 31 days)

No, it's not correct or incorrect - we don't know until we are told.

Interims state "As of 30 September 2024, the Company had US$2.91 million in cash and cash equivalents (30

Arthur, there is certainly some opaqueness - but this is true for all companies I've invested in. However in their interims they stated:

"The Board is mindful of dilution for existing shareholders, and the Company will only undertake further fundraising activities if the Board believes additional capital is required to achieve the Company's strategic goals."

Now whether this is a new aquisition soon to be announced, or money required to complete existing in-progress items we won't know until we are told.

No that poster was bullish the week before with 20 bullish posts a minute, then turned bearish the last couple of days, with 20 posts a minute. He didn't "know" anything - other than how to be extremely annoying.

They have better margins than the BTC miners with no reason they shouldn't be a lot higher. But that's markets for you, things can remain undervalued for a long time, and investors can get bored then try and be clever and move to something else with the aim of buying back before the big move comes. Would you prefer buybacks or dividends? I'm not sure which is better - perhaps dividends?

CLSK is due a 2x in my opinion (possibly more but needs general market tailwinds). I think it comes in Feb after Q1's come out which will look good due to FASB markups - should see near $1 EPS for the quarter.

I'm not really a fan of TSX either, had horrible buy/sell experience on that exchange for some of the bitcoin miners.

However THX is clearly solid fundamentally and still on my radar, but my funds are mostly tied up in CLSK (which also should not have any near term dilution due to a recent notes issuance). But on my radar as a future move.

Interesting thoughts there, price actions suggests someone knew and traded it, but might be forward selling as you say. Price will likely visit 1.9 (always does on a placing), but hopefully it's a quick stop and sets a new base to move up from.

Yep shafted. Gst had been moving nicely but had dropped the last few days which I though was a pullback. The market always seems to know a placing coming, wonder how much privileged info gets traded. Still the aim factor with your one I struggle with.

Clsk should be one of the first to report as it is their Q1 (most others are annual reports that take longer to produce). They should see EPS approaching $1 per share for the quarter (thanks to FASB profit on their hodl). Also due to old gen equipment write off two quarters ago depreciation should be more reasonable. I'm hoping this will wake up the sector as it has been a joke the last couple of months.

Additionally there are massive options expiries on 17 Jan, so perhaps they move in the near future.
