Floated at the same time as Kanabo was MGC Pharma & it's started recovering today having announced they have executed a binding, 3-year US market Supply and Distribution Agreement with US based Company, AMC Holdings Inc (AMC), with minimum orders of US$24 million of MGC phytomedicine products including CannEpil®, CogniCann® and CimetrA™.

Cairn, which estimated the value of the arbitral award at $1.7bn, said on Thursday it had “noted” the proposed legislation and was “monitoring the situation”. The company declined to comment on the proposed $1bn refund.

Meyyappan Nagappan, a tax lawyer who has worked with India’s government, said: “I don’t know if there’s enough in the deal for companies to go ahead and settle.”

Speaking of the affected companies, he added: “I don’t get damages, I don’t get legal costs, I don’t even get interest on the tax, which every company that’s owed taxes gets.”

He continued: “If Cairn has an award in its favour and they’re confident of winning an appeal and being able to enforce, which they have threatened to do, they have a lot more to gain than what’s being offered in this deal.”

Cairn shares rose 7 per cent on Friday following a 27 per cent jump on Thursday.

GoldStone’s primary focus is to recommence gold production at Akrokeri-Homase Project (AKHM) within 2 years. The project contains two historic gold mines: the high-grade 24g/t (recovered grade) Akrokeri Mine and the Homase Open Pit, a shallow 2.85g/t oxide deposit. GoldStone has acquired extensive exploration and development work due to the activities of the former operators and the intention is to reopen the Akrokeri mine and extend the Homase open pit with the goal of reaching production in as short a timeframe as practicable.

The Board believe that once the AKHM Project is in production, this will provide a foundation on which to rapidly build a mid-tier mining company. From this, the Company will look at other commodities if there is a strategic fit geographically or financially.

So with 1/2 bn shares & US$1.7bn that could be awarded. Interest continues to accumulate whilst the debt is active. Easy to work out the share price must be worth a £2 + increase or a very generous special dividend is coming to shareholders. I would be happy with £1 + per share. Might not have that long to wait eh ! So expect a frenzy of buying today & next week onwards.

Cairn announces that the tribunal established to rule on its claim against the Government of India has found in Cairn's favour.



Cairn's claim was brought under the terms of the UK-India Bilateral Investment Treaty, the legal seat of the tribunal was the Netherlands and the proceedings were under the registry of the Permanent Court of Arbitration.



The tribunal ruled unanimously that India had breached its obligations to Cairn under the UK-India Bilateral Investment Treaty and has awarded to Cairn damages of US$1.2billion plus interest and costs, which now becomes payable.

I might be wrong, although I personally reckon there will be a frenzy of buying between now and results day. Also on Monday & about time eh !

I'm happy buying in around 20p, but if I can't get them that low I still hold & will be ready late Oct maybe. Does anyone know how their other investments other than covid related are progressing, after all this is an investment company. Worrying that Trevor B is still parting with his shares.

Expect some more selling before the weekend. Doubt whether Trevor Brown will buy back in above 15p. News only out after late lunch so reckon there will be huge selling pre close today. Not many investors like awaiting any news that may arrive by October. So take 31p as a sell price whilst quick - perhaps.
