You're never going to win an argument against someone who keeps throwing everything at the wall in the hope that something sticks.

That's only true if SP stays near current level up until FID, AND shareholders accept such levels of dilution or are diluted by force. While not impossible, that scenario is not very likely.

Now you're just being silly. 1.7 billion is not going to get you 30 years worth of lithium. Add on the opex and then you've got an argument, but I don't know where you're going to find so much lithium to buy.

For those who claim a buyout by CEZ can't happen because of grant conditions, I very much doubt that's really true. No one in particular in the EU or Czech governments particularly want an Australian company to be involved.

Just for the same of a thought experiment, if the project was 100% funded by grants, NPV breakeven price would be around $15k. With no grants it would be close to 24k.

This matters if there is potential for futher grants, or for existing grants to be lost. Also FID would usually only happen if the NPV is reasonable.

If you take a look at the 5 lithium-related stocks I mentioned the other day, every one of them is up by around 9-10% in the last 24 hours

There will always be ups and downs though, unless something crazy happens
