this desktop review process is an absolute joke. The process is far too slow. Probably undermanned and no apparent urgency, which considering the pandemic we are in is borderline criminal.

They are not "expecting" anything. They are just pricing themselves out of the trading action for now. MMs have to publish a price. When they do not want to deal for whatever reason they price higher than everyone else. If they want to deal you will see their price drop.

I guess that's a no! So much for two large buys.

I think the Gov doesn't care about quality as long as it cannot be questioned on it and can drive the narrative. The vast majority of the public don't care about quality, they just want the Gov to say, "use this and its OK"
So as long as the Gov can fudge some stats and get a good price, they will take the easy road.

This is why in my view Avact/Medusa are not doing enough marketing of the product, reinforcing over and over again in the public psyche , how good affidx is compared to the competition AND why it matters. A few % points may not sound much but it equates to thousands of individual people and families. Make the public start to ask the Gov, "where is the Affidx, and why are you fobbing us off with Chinese stuff?"

Avacta are waiting for some miracle to happen, and that is a tactical error. They need to drive the narrative. Otherwise the potential will just slip away.

Don't get me wrong, they will sell product, they will make some money and maybe that is OK, but big market leading sales do not come without Big Market leading Marketing. (unless you are a cheap chinese product apparently)

surely part of the Govt job is to protect the people. So why oh why are they not actively pursuing the best, most accurate, most simple test to take, which also happens to be UK made, and actively shepherding it through the red tape? Apparently not, apparently their objective is to screw the UK diagnostics industry in favour of funding the chinese machine through distribution company fronts. Why would they do that?? (jingle jingle!)

And marketing team worth their salt wold have jumped on this by now and had their "key distributor" correct the facts on the website. Its Medusa's choice whether they sell it as professional use or not, but surely they must be expected to get the facts right.

Mind you its a convenient line to take if you want people to buy your own brand offering instead...... just saying!

Pretty sure there will be a separate HUA approval process for US independent of EU. We have not had any news that they have applied for US approvals, though that does not mean that they have not.

it (probably) Isn't linked because Claibre is a US Site and Affidx is not yet available to the US market. Best kept isolated so that there are no unintended US sales.

Medusa19 are our main partner for consumer yes, but could also sell professional if they chose. So they are a stakeho0lder in the Affidx story. yet on the website they describe Affidx as "in development" not available for professi0onal use. This is a misrepresentation of a brand that they are supposedly working hard to get HUA for and supposedly be the main HUA conduit for. I find it lazy, unprofessional and a little concerning that they dont care to state the correct fact about a partner brand. If I were AS I would have been on the phone ages ago to have them correct.

AS set expectations, directly or indirectly and rightly or wrongly "the market" i.e investors expected delivery. The subsequent total silence has devastated the SP and to some extent confidence in AS (as far as LFT is concerned) I personally find the silence re sales and production baffling. Even if Avacta is "only" selling 1 million per month, for a company that three months ago had no revenue stream , £1m plus revenue a month is a reasonable start on a small market segment if you take out all the noise of Government contract etc.

More baffling is the lack of any kind of public face of Affidx. When is the marketing for the best test in the world!!!

As a broader company with diagnostics as a second bowstring, I still like the medium to long term potential but I really think they have let themselves and investors down so far on Affidx Covid.

It is clear that they have essentially handed everything over to Medusa. They expect them to get HUA, and they are leaving it to them to market it once they do. So where are Medusa? why are they not pushing professional use in the interim? Even the website does no favours for Avacta, as it still describes Affidx as under development and coming soon. I have some concern that they are using the exclusivity umbrella to supress Affidx at this stage in order to push their own saliva test. I think this Will change once HUA is granted.

Something just is not right, both in government and in the Avacta approach. Gov seem to be actively avoiding using UK designed and produced tech, WHY?
And why are AVCT not screaming from the roof tops about their quality and ease of use and 100% UK credentials. BUILD THE BRAND even if stocks are low, use availability as a selling aid. BUY NOW stocks running low due to popularity!
Not to mention why the delay in ramping up production. Has AS given up on UK? Focus on EU and ROW? Likely move main production base to localised markets to maximise margins?

They are a bunch of clueless numpties. And don't say capacity. If it was urgent enough the Gov could help procure capacity instantly fo the chosen UK test. Something just is not right, both in government and in the Avacta approach.

This is exactly what our marketing team should be doing. Creating a market, pushing the brand into the consumer psyche and changing the way people think. Don't think Covid test think Affidx!
