Let's be honest, unless you are apolitical you've decided what you're going to believe and what sources to trust by now. Neither side is 'right' of course but there are certain things that are more objective than others. The UK clearly does not have the system in place of other countries, especially Asian nations. Whether or not that's the government's fault is open to debate but the amount of bluster and confidence along the way leaves them open to ridicule.

How about some balance? The government's response has not been an unmitigated disaster and there is some evidence that the late lockdown was very much the fault of the sage advisors (minutes from before the lockdown show no urgency from the scientists to lockdown earlier than they did and a reliance on inaccurate modelling). However they have without doubt failed on numerous fronts. The test, track and trace system is a total joke and failure and it pained me to watch ministers try to defend it. There has been so much bluster around areas such as quarantining travellers that was purely spin to seem like they were taking this seriously. And the shift in messaging is so quick at times if you blink you miss it. eg banning eating out to subsiding it in the space of barely a few months is pretty mad.

This is something others just don't seem to understand. Yes it's never good to be relying on one product but when that one product is in SUCH demand and you have SUCH an advantage over the rest of the field then you need to look past the lack of diversification. I just don't think that clients are going to be interested in shopping around for new tests, they will stick with primer design's high quality tests and focus their attention on all the other pandemic control matters.

I'm not one to go down the conspiracy theory route but the lack of monthly update is telling I think. On the one hand it could be that sales are not up to scratch and they're waiting on some other gem to throw in with the next sales update. On the other they have some excellent news coming and feel justified to move away from the monthly sales updates now into something a bit more professional (how many other companies rns monthly sales?). This delay means that if results are as good as many are predicting we could be seeing the mother of all rerates. I'm quite excited and jump out of bed looking for an alert like it's christmas day every morning! GLA.

I'm with you SS. If I was looking in from the outside I'd be investing today as the risk/reward is very favourable still imo. I'm only a bit sore as I listened a little too closely to members on here in regards to short term sp movements and got burnt numerous times.

It always makes me laugh this notion of fair value. Based on what? Value relies on a myriad of factors, not a simple P/E ratio.

Looking at boohoo today and their current P/E ratio of 60 it shows you what is possible if ncyt can use this unprecedented opportunity to fundamentally transform this business.

I feel the first mover advantage may translate into long-term monopoly. Do tell me if I'm grossly wrong but I doubt major clients we are now supplying to are going to suddenly switch test suppliers at this stage. I also don't see the WHO bothering to assess more and more providers now they have a solid number of companies to depend on.

Any announcement that implicates us as a beneficiary of the government's billions earmarked to transform the UKs testing and diagnostics sector and we could be looking at the sort of P/E ratios that other exciting growth prospects currently garner.

What do you mean by why aren't they listening? They are fully aware of the number of cases I can assure you of that. They've looked at their economies and they've clearly made a decision to try and restart them and muddle through the crisis. As recent figures show 80% of positive cases are asymptomatic so it's a case of making the most of new treatments coming online, trying (and in our case failing) to get a sophisticated test and trace system in place and hope to god that a vaccine is developed before the developed world becomes the developing world and the developing world becomes something post apocalyptic.

No. Just because everyone who puts money in expects a profit doesn't mean that everyone who puts money in deserves a profit. Why should investing be any different to any other way of making money? You do your research and then you bide your time. If you don't have the patience for it you sell up and accept your losses. What's morally classist about that?

All this research is pointing in the right direction it's just strange that there is zero appetite from investors. Hey ho. Would rather it this way round than empty sentiment-driven rises.

It's weird that people simply can't understand how little directors care about 'here today gone tomorrow' traders. If there is exciting news to release Graham will know that the only people that'll lose out if they take their time with releasing it is the traders who were in a hurry to bank some profit and flee. For everyone else it's a top up opportunity.

I think right now it is in a holding pattern which is highly predictable. If you buy now below 270 you can almost certainly pop back on before close for a small profit.

It's not always quite so easy to predict though. We've very much found our base prior to news so you can be pretty much assured that this morning drop is temporary and can make 5% whilst you're bored waiting for the rns to drop.

Following the share movements this week I'm pretty certain if you buy now at 270 you'll be able to sell later around the 280 mark. This limbo before results is perfect trading territory.
