Read the RNS more than once17 Jun 2024 13:20
To be fair about the content of the RNS there are new things in there. 1). They have added a prestigious US Medical Centre to expedite the clinical trial timeline. 2). Internal review boards of BOTH clinical sites taking place (so progress it seems at 2nd site too). 3). Pediatric inclusion and to amend the clinical protocol to enable pediatric use, which Hemo believes it can also effectively treat. 4). They have been specific about the tumor cancer possibilities with CBR - namely epithelial ovarian carcinoma (so CBR not grounded to a halt in Govt labs as supposed by many) & Hemo themselves progressing rigorous testing for IND studies - 9 out of 10 ovarian cancers are "epithelial"
My take on the above:
1. Gut feeling is that "prestigious" US Medical Centre has not been named as this may be linked to funding by them and perhaps with conditional requirements by them to extend to pediatric trials. VS states they "have added" the new Centre, he has not said they are in discussions with. So, in my view, the name of the 2nd Medical Centre has been withheld for no other reason except that it will be a funding relationship and likely pediatric related.
2. CBR - they have drilled this down to a possible set of constructs that will enable them to test on ovarian cancer and this will enable them to move in house toward possible funding for that specific condition. Whilst the virus solutions are being worked on Hemo know that they have to monetize CBR driven cures themselves in the meantime and have isolated ovarian cancer with which to achieve that.
Purely my summation and reading into what has been communicated. You have to admire the Hemo team. Strapped for cash long term yet still exploring new avenues and a new partnership to get things moved through the pipeline. Perhaps this shows the agility of the company as I think VS once referred to. Things are clearly not dead in the water, because cash is low and as some might like others to believe. He has not laid anyone off to preserve cash, he is holding on to his key scientist assets and is putting them to work on the science. Get that right and non-dilutive funding will follow. No one of any note has left the company because it is in need to future cash- why? - because they too believe in the science and refreshingly, the boss believes in them. Reasons to be cheerful today! All in my opinion GLA
