In the run up to the trading update the SP certainly went into overbought territory - now it seems to be oversold.

I think market sentiment has pushed it oversold - the whole market is poor at the moment on inflation and interest rate worries.

Also the SETS trading planform looks for maximum liquidity - that is certainly only achieved on the downside at the moment.

Just be patient, when the market improves the SP will recover maybe to 225p then if dividends are paid latter in the year we could start to get back towards earlier highs.

i don't think there should be any windfall taxes from anywhere - it sets a very bad precedent if the Government of the day drains profits from business for handouts.

The scheme that the Government announced to help consumers seems OK as a solution to iron out volatility of energy prices - that could be extended if necessary.

The main problem was that the regulator allowed small energy operators into the market - they hauled down prices when the energy was cheap and then collapsed when the price rocketed - consumers had no chance to budget properly.
