POO certainly took a big hit last night when US production figures for August where released but thinking about it would have been strange if they hadn't been record figures.

With the oil price high, summer weather and the pain of low POO over the last few years I guess all American producers would have done everything they could to increase production.

The question is can they maintain production at these levels and if so for how long ???

Things are starting to look better - it seems that we might have turned the corner - EIA today though is even more important than usual.

STS started at around 23.30 last night.- both vessels are scheduled to depart around midnight tonight.

A slight improvement tonight helped by API and particularly a good rise on Wall Street.

Reading the US press there seems to be no consensus at all about where the worlds financial markets are heading but maybe there are signs that Trump may reduce the pressure on China. China hold a lot of American government debt, that they are steadily selling, this has led to an increase in interest rates on new American Government debt.

They use a 1-6 scale with 6 being the highest risk - this is the definition for risk level 6

POO seems to be driven by the negative sentiment in the wider market, until that changes I think we have to be prepared for a falling oil price.

The next significant level of support is around $64 for WTI - the level of the rising high from the lows of 2016 and 2017.

Maybe after the American mid term elections the situation will improve.

This could be much more significant for Sirius than first appears.

By creating a special economic area, is it not the case that Government are more likely to offer Government Debt Guarantees for companies that invest in the development area???

It is sometimes very useful to look back at big capital projects and see what went wrong. When reviewing it is a general theme that management failures in the planning stage and during construction were nearly always the main reason for failure.

I have been looking for these fault lines to appear with Sirius but so far I have found none. Even the decision to spend more on the tunnel construction at reduced risk is to my mind a positive. Many of the regular posters on this board must be congratulated for giving all readers to this board the vital insight needed for monitoring this project.

The market looks a bit more positive this morning - POO though is still looking for direction.

No, I was wrong - no hook up yet and it doesn't look imminent.

Hispania has moved well away from AK - around 4 nautical miles.

Looking at the past track it looks like hook up was actually around 7.45 this morning.

The AIS on Hispania seems to be misaligned - hence the apparent gap between the vessels.

Looks like hook up within the hour - before 9am - weather is calm.

Hispania is around 30 nautical miles from AK and due to arrive at around 22.00 tonight.

So everything is set for a Sunday morning hook up with the weather set fair.

Kraken is still in the development stage with more wells to come online in 2019 by that time production will be over 50k.
