Yes, I would agree that the weather last time distorted things a bit - hence 40k.

40k is I think a good rate of production that we can aspire too during the winter rising to 45k plus in the summer - if all goes well.

Myosotis - I would not be at all surprised but I don't think they need SM yet - they will wait until SM is up and running and can guarantee them a supply of polyhalite at a cheaper rate than they can mine it themselves from Boulby - unless they intend to take a much bigger interest in SM that is.

I think that you need to look at ICL from a different prospective - they actually NEED polyhalite to guarantee their long term supply of Potash. Their traditional supply from the Dead Sea isn't sustainable and it coming at an ever greater cost to the environment and tourism in the area.

Boulby is I think a stop gap for them as they build demand for polyhalite and yes they do aim to dominate the market as they have with controlled release fertilisers [Osmocote]. Eventually they will turn to SM for supply.

The question is what relationship do they want with SM - customer/partner/owner - my guess is that they just want to be able to buy raw polyhalite at a good price in unlimited volume and will I think develop a new factory to process it on Teesside.

In some ways companies like ICL are very easy to understand - they will simply do everything for profit - nothing else matters - now they have decided Polyhalite is the way forward for profit nothing will stop them.

I have a very high regard for ICL as a customer for their expertise and marketing ability - they are not a market leader for nothing.

The way they have embraced their Polysulphate brand and included polyhalite in other blends is very encouraging as is their undoubted enthusiasm for polyhalite - this all bodes well for the future.

I agree with wwguk that their is a compelling case for ICL to have a close business relationship with SM.

Maybe we should even be looking at this gentlemen as a possible source of the $3 billion.

It would be even better if Cairn made a statement and told the media that they got it wrong regarding the Kraken reserves.

Absolutely brilliant - if she maintains her current speed - around 10knots - she will be with AK on Saturday morning.

And she was the only one in the fleet immediately available - all others Tuesday morning at the earliest.

It seems strange that Barclays didn't also release their broker report in the UK - maybe they will tomorrow?

I think everything to be said, has been said about Barclays but their ineptitude still makes my blood boil !!!

One footnote - the SP started falling at about 16.15 yesterday afternoon - clearly a leak !!!

I have had a good look and found nothing referring to a Barclays downgrade.

The Swedish site's quoted Bloomberg as a source but I could find nothing on Bloomberg.

Maybe old news with the date changed - shorts have used that trick many times before.

Very weird last 15 mins last night and first half hour today - lots of stop losses taken out - SP dipped below 19p at one stage - high volume - have found no other mention of Barclays downgrade - is this legit.

Euroclear data for March is now available showing an increase from 2.87% in February to 3.24% in March - rather a surprise - I expected to see the figure below 2.5% - especially as MW reduced below 0.5%.

Euroclear data for March is now published showing a marginal drop from 13.82% in February to 13.71% in March.

This sell seemed to trigger the slide followed by more volume selling.
