Trump has been complaining that all the figures with minuses in front of them are fake because the American Oil Industry is so great that it produces ten hundred times more oil than the rest of the world combined. He went on to say that all the oil is such great great quality and that any reports that it was piss poor are fake news.

One thing - if POO doesn't continue to drop today after those numbers nothing can push it down.

The important number is $51.15 on WTI if it finishes above that tonight that could actually be good news.

Today's EIA is the pivotal moment I think - according to the charts start to worry if WTI falls below $51.15 - its still some way off that - numbers at 15.30BST.

If the numbers are seen as positive there is a good chance that this is the bottom.

The market is volatile enough to get oil to $75 and beyond but is it stable enough to hold it there for any length of time.

If the US got its act together and worked with the Russians and OPEC to match supply with demand we would all be in a much better place with Brent probably trading close to $70 all the time - a bit boring but much better for Enquest.

Exporting the unrefined crude is the other option but their must be a limited demand for their light oil and price will reflect that - also they may not have the infrastructure to increase their exports of crude.

When the pipeline comes on line later in the year then it will not help increase production it will only help their logistics.

Or they may end up storing more light oil than they can use.

I think it will be a very slow summer with the market continuing to drift down on recession fears but SM will buck the trend with a modest rise.
