I think that its certainly the case that a high sell limit works and prevents brokers lending out shares.
As to which brokers lend out our shares I have never got a definitive answer to that one but I suspect that lots do simply because this seems to be the way this crazy market works.
Maybe though the big name ones don't. But I do know that one of the brokers offering very low dealing rates that advertises on a certain website that has a lot of negative things to say about SM certainly does.

The monthly shorts stats for October - showing all stock out on load - have just been released by Euroclear.

Despite all the turmoil with the SP since the summer they show very little change - just a very gradual increase.

The Northern Powerhouse may get a mention in the Tory Election Manifesto - it did in 2017 but that was only in relation to the new rail routes -so its worth looking out for.

That's simply down to pressure - it shows he cares and that he wont give up.

To see Gina Rinehart's involvement with SM as a negative is absolutely absurd - this project probably wouldn't have advanced at all without her involvement - also she may well end up being its saviour.

Well if they do that to the letter - SM are home and dry.

One thing we haven't had yet is the Government response to the petition - maybe they just haven't got around to it or run out of time - if we don't get it tomorrow it will be after the election.

Or maybe discussions are ongoing between SM and the civil servants so ongoing Government policy isn't established.

Leaving aside the issue of fracking - we all have our own views on that - this decision was clearly a case of Johnson and co covering their own arses and carrying favour with the electorate.

Its just like the Government Guarantees for SM - its all about politics and the risk of faliure and nothing to do with what's good for the country and the economy.

Think about it.

There has been a move to allow fracking in National Parks - I guess opponents of this are trying to draw a line in the sand - so from the environmentalists point of view they are trying to restrict acreage and damage.

Mind you if they started fracking in Yellowstone the results could be interesting!!!

Highbridge have been shorting SM continuously since December 2016 so they must know more about the company than most in the City.
Since the summer they have been reducing continuously and they reduced again on Wednesday - now down to 1.28%.
This has to be very good news!!!
