I have a feeling that the London Stock Exchange is being corruptly run by criminal individuals for their personal gain. The logical attacks on certain sectors at a regular interval are too pronounced to be accidental. Banks this week, house builders the next, then retailers, etc. There should be a lot of sackings of top management to clear the rats out.
The whole system is corrupt and how the Asian market can affect a share like Persimmon really takes me to the cleaners. it even affects the National Grid. do they really think investors are completely stupid?
Sold out, with a small loss but did not feel like forking out more money for a rights issue. I have accepted the idea that business puts profit ahead of lives and air traffic contributes greatly to the spread of virus diseases, whether we like it or not.
All air traffic should be suspended for 6 months as it is harmful to the health of the world.
Safety is very important.
1/ Passengers' temperatures should be checked before boarding. If they are high, they should be refused admission. They could then be issued with a refusal note which entitles them to a full refund.
2/Latex gloves should be issued so that all can be protected from anything they handle on the plane: toilet doors, magazines, seat belts etc.
3/ Face masks could be optional for all. Refusal means the passenger travels at his own risk.
Other suggestions could be taken on board at the discretion of the airlines. Let us see positive responses by them to get us all moving again.
addendum; I have been a heavy investor in this firm but I because of this virus I have lost a lot of money. We need reassurances, not government criticism.
Good for you but make sure you book through a proper travel firm. if it all falls through you may not get your deposit back . I have cancelled my villa booking in Portugal for July.
Because I booked from a private individual, I simply lost my deposit. The balance is still not due yet. Thankfully I only lose around £800 instead of £5000. There are little or no guarantees with private bookings.
We live in a dangerous world. Why take unnecessary risks! Crossing the road can be hazardous enough at times. How we ever reach maturity amazes me. Our ancestors survived the Black Death so we may be fortunate enough to survive all this. Keep the fingers crossed. We must appreciate Warren Buffet who showed some wisdom and has survived to maturity.
Let us be realistic, the airlines are mainly responsible for bringing this dreadful disease into the country. We are living quite some distance from China, so there was little chance of the disease taking off the way it has without the contribution of the airlines. Now they want to contribute a second mutated wave of the virus to hit us. Air travel is dead for the next two years.
Also dying is the concept of free travel in Europe. We really have to ring fence our country, much as it may displease many adventurous souls. There is such a thing as video conferencing which should enable the business word to keep rolling without expensive business class fares.
I am getting really fed up with the present see-saw movement of shares. i would like to see some definite action here. We were promised a split but where is it?
it is like a divorce court where people wrangle over who gets grandma's bone china set. It could boringly go on for years.
Also for a large' pharma' firm it is not making much progress in a corona vaccine. We should get an update about how it is progressing.
We need a' split and progress' report.
I cannot comprehend why ,with the savings of this year's dividend, this firm has not the wit to set up its own food delivery system.
Why should it depend on precarious outside sources to deliver its food?
Something is very wrong here.
One suggestion for the BOD would be a 'JUNIOR' clothing section in their shops. This would encompass children and tight jeans addicts. Also it could cater for the MODERN MISS , young ladies who like a bit of style and can delight in a 'youthful' shopping experience.
The addition of a separate 'SENIOR' section would be attractive for the wealthy portly ladies and gents who have a lot of money to throw around but find the small sizes annoying and at present find the shopping experience frustrating.
The JUNIOR section could end up hitting NEXT very hard and might help to keep this firm in business.
We really have to move with the times or go under. We cannot maintain an old and fusty reputation any longer.
New management should be well on its way , slow food deliveries, no clothing sales etc. Take-over target assuredly !
Maybe they could rent a few delivery vans from TESCO to get the ball rolling. They do not need drivers as management might be capable of filling in a they should be well rested.
Maybe this is an opportunity for NEXT to get into the food business and grab some prime sites. The clothing range would improve. We can make our clothes last longer and save a bit of money but we cannot do without eating and drinking. i notice that the queues are very long outside MKS. Customers still rate it highly for food. As for the management,' Clear them out ! '
