The expensive legal team employed by Petrofac should be suing the SFO for billions in lost business due to their extortive meddling leading to a massive collapse in share price and new contracts.

I cannot understand why a backfire situation should not be instigated seeking billions in compensation.

The SFO should give up its crusade as being an international policeman with a squad of legal vultures in tow, all trying to make a quick buck milking the reserves of rich British international companies.

investigations intentionally stretch out over many years so that the fines can be inflated. A totally unjustified gravy train!

As we see with Liverpool council, some practices there are unacceptable and certain matters have been taken out of their hands due to irregularities and failure to keep proper records.
This is where the SFO should be involved, inspecting councils up and down the country handing contracts out to relatives and family members with corresponding business interests.
They should also be vigilant looking out for brown envelopes in local planning permission contracts.

I also suggest that any fine involved here should be paid at £100 a month over ' x ' period of years if there is no other way out.

Forget the multi- bagger fines.

I have strong views on the fine payment. It must not be paid to the SFO band of robbers.

It should go to a selection of charities in the UK instead. Maybe help fund the covid vaccine or help the homeless in London or the Salvation Army.

It is great to see the government taking action. Foreign travel should be banned for the rest of the year until this virus is beaten.

You must suffer under the delusion that contract givers in the UK are honest.

Honesty is a myth in Britain. From top to bottom corruption is king.

To suggest a 100m fine is suitable is laughable. This company should just ignore it and pretend that nothing happened.

They cannot put a whole company in jail. Remember that money is not donated to a charitable institution but funds a gang of crooks.

If PFC paid it into a charitable institution of its choice we would all be satisfied.

Better than going into the back pockets of seedy lawyers who don't deserve it.

In the past the SFO has murdered British companies and destroyed their capital values.

One in particular that I remember was Glencore. Before they greased their sticky hands here, the share price was around £8 a share. Since then it has been lucky to hit £3 a share. This attack has completed flattened the company.

They also hit Glaxo which is still a bit wobbly.

They seem to be just in the running to slam highly valued companies and live in luxury enjoying the fines.

They really serve no useful purpose and should be abolished as a useless quango and an anti British establishment.

the gold price is just taking a rest as the big buyers, the banks, are now pumping money into bonds.

This will not last long as they are devaluing their gold reserves.

They are just hoping to buy in again at a cheaper price. Expect a very large rise over the rest of the year.

If they move the London listing to Amsterdam then the SFO should have no more power over them. it being now a foreign interfering body.

They could appeal to the court of Human Rights for its type of justice as a European concern.

They could avoid paying the fine and sack their inefficient lawyers.
