When they initially said they would submit tariff, they said they would then be engaged in meetings and discussions. Clearly various questions arose through that process and so an 'early August Workshop' was arranged. This should respond to the questions, with GE and CMEC present to add 'significant' weight.

Remembering that there are 2 x 300MW power plants/units proposed by Government White Paper in Tete, meaning the authorities are deadly serious about this, and that time line for them being built and delivering first power mean that the Ncondezi project has to progress very quickly from here.

The Workshop was scheduled for early August. When they informed of us of the timing of the workshop, although they were vague ('early August'), they clearly had set the date and that it was going to go ahead. To my mind, saying early August means that it will have happened this week some time.

We may get news of shareholder loan restructuring ahead of JDA. But if news of JDA is not far off, they may decided to wait and release news JDA first..

Certainly, they've got to announce the outcome of the Workshop. I don't think JDA will be very far off (as binding JDA would need to trigger other work and announcements and so they need to nail this ASAP).

I'm with those who believe in principle tariff approval is in the bag already. This means JDA can land any time after August Workshop. And with it, all the numbers. As far as I can tell, GE want to get on with this. Lamu now concentrates GE on NCCL. Good luck all!

OlderandWiser, agree that it improves the case for KIBO too. In fact, we see how GE are linking Ncondezi with KIBO through KIBO's Mozambique Benga power plant project sourcing NCCL's (soon to be GE's) coal. I am invested in KIBO. But right now my attentions are here for obvious reasons.

The Lamu coal powered plant deal in Kenya, in which GE was to invest near $400million fir a 20% stake and which was a yardstick for us in many ways, is in trouble. Lamu is on World Heritage Site land and so has lots of opposition, including from significant investors in GE. GE has said it will reconsider (this was sometime mid July). Relevance to us? Two key points; 1. Lamu showed GEs eagerness to confirm these deals and contribute sizeable investment. Meaning there was very recent deal (Lamu) that pointed to GE making good on their strategy to develop their presence in emerging and developing world markets. 2. Lamu struggling to happen now means even greater emphasis on Ncondezi, if they are to realise their ambitions for turnaround in their power division. But then Ncondezi was always going to be a whole different level of quality and potential. This sudden August Workshop seems in quick order after GE faltering at Lamu. GE needs Ncondezi Energy more than ever, in my opinion. The Workshop will be done soon. Not long to go. Good luck all.

Who knows what the specifics are Andrea, but Michael Haworth is interested in 4.81% of the issued share capital in ZIOC and near 6% at NCCL. I'm not following the news particular at ZIOC (and would've missed mess Haworth's standing had it not been brought to our attention by others), but the deal about to be signed with GE and CMEC will be amongst one of the biggest on AIM. Anyone on AIM would be envious when it comes off. Really looking forward to getting those JDA numbers now. Good luck all, muckers and non-muckers.

The two interesting bits of recent info to emerge; 1. Our 300MW Tete project/plant (or at least we confidently assume ours) crucial part of Mozambique plan; except they've now stipulated 2 x 300MW from Tete, so even bigger than previous. (Thanks to those found the government white paper). 2. Michael Haworth (Ncondezi Chairman) stepping down from ZIOC Board to focus on his other business interests, doing so at this major moment in NCCL's life course. Can only assume something BIG is about to land and they're all getting ready. Good luck all!

There must be quite a number of projects on hold owing to Zim politics. Can't be doing the country any good and they will know it. If anything, the 'slim' electoral success is a reminder that nothing can be taken for granted and that the ball's got to be rolling and progress made. Much of the paper must be done and just final sign off, I would have thought.

Once it lands, they have everything else lined up ready to go.

Nope OlderandWiser, still have a holding there and believe it will come off. But the turn of events this morning surprised me, even for AIM (i.e. folks claiming 10p on the bank of a name change). Genuinely believe KIBO has great prospects and want to try build holding further before genuine material news :-)

We will receive news immediately following the early August workshop. In theory, that workshop could've already happened (or potentially today). But next week sometime will be the latest for what will count as 'early August' (at least in book). Their stating 'early August' the date's already set and that they have a confident plan as to when they want to get back to the market. As some of us feel, the 'delays' no ordinary delay. Significant progress has been made and is being made. The RNS may have mentioned 3 months but it won't take that long. In-principle, Tariff sorted in my opinion. The workshop probably performing a number of functions, including preparing for the official news. Next few days and weeks will be massive. Good luck to the regular muckers!
