Sxx, Edisons will always be conservative, EPS only focused, conservative on POO, pepessimistic on costs etc.
As other have already said, DSPP has had a good a go as I have seen at modelling potential value and his projections are worth having a look at.
But IMO whoever ends up buying Hurricane or the Hurricane's assetts, will not be using the same resource classification (1-3P/C P90-P10) - so projecting any real figure on potential value is near impossible. Also some very knowledgable sources believe, that there may end up being a lot more recoverable OIP than what the CPR says - if this turns out to be the case and potential suitors agree, then DSPPs projections could also end up looking extremely conservative.
Now although I think that it will be be BP or a BP led consortium that ends up with Lanfax and Linwick, I suspect that our chinese conections on the board will be giving SINOPEC, CNPC, Petrochina etc, the same level of access to data as what BP etc are recieving.
