Hugely impressive flare, thanks for posting Ralph. Having see quite a few drillers flaring first hand, I can say that this is bloody impressive.
John it would have only smoked like that for about half an hour until they twaeked the burners, followed by another 20hrs of clean flaring, before the planned shut-in that was RNS'd this morning.

Well, it's been quite a busy weekend for me for various different reasons, so logging in here this afternoon and seeing rumours sugesting a rather large flare has been spotted above the Leader is extremely pleasing to say the least . The links to the photos here and advfn are not the best, but do seem to confirm the rumours (thanks to the guys who posted them) - the flare certainly looks mighty impressive I must say. I really hope we get an RNS from the Company this week confirming that they have brought oil to surface or at least confirming that the DST has either started or even been completed.
I posted last week that LC not flowing commercially would see the SP back to 20s or 30p at best, and a good positive result could see the SP break all-time highs - lets see which way it goes - and can I just say. " I wouldn't want to have been out of it, this weekend".

Ghengis, Apache, You have lost me a little here, maybe not that hard - but are you seem to be suggesting that the Brynhild Fault Zone maybe doesn't exist and Lancaster and GWA could be one accumulation, if so then I dont buy it. The existence of an intra-basement sealing fault between Warwick and Lincoln, and between Lancaster and Halifax has still to be established, but not between the GLA and the GWA.

Dark Knight, I have absolutely no clue when it will be, it could be this week, next week, next month or next year. As long as they are positive then whenever they come along is absolutely fine by me.

Or even the mast. :-)

Yellow, sometimes you have to get off the fence and nail you colours to the mask. I dont think my prediction will be far away, give or take 6 months.

My prediction, definitely finish LC sometime Q3 or Q4 and the SP to be between 25p and 100p depending on results.

Beer bull, do you know they haven't started or are you just guessing. Serious question because if they haven't started DSTing then I can probably get standard delivery rather than paying extra for next day delivery.

Feeling lucky, how big a step ladder do you think I should order. Amazon do next day delivery of 20ft ladders. I am thinking of putting 3 together and getting a couple of guys to foot it. Will this be tall enough or do I need a couple more, or maybe a plan B involving a rowing boat.
And do Amazon deliver to the Shetland Islands.

Pieces, what if you stood a rather large step ladder on the Shetland Island Beach, on a clear night and looked in the General Direction of the Leader - do you think you coul see the glow. - or would I'd be impossible with the light of Iceland in the background.

Why the panic and rush. The Leader is not due to go to Prem Oil until Q2 next year (from memory), so plenty of time to finish drilling, do the DST and move to WC. I am more than happy to wait for the official RNS, everything else is rumours and ramping as for as I am concerned. ;-)

They will, IMO, conduct the test as soon as they are ready for it, (maybe this week, maybe next) - I suspect they would probably prefer to initially start flaring off the hydrocarbons in daylight hours although nor essential - so they may take that into consideration - but I very much doubt that stock market being open or not will even be considered when planning any part of the DST.

Slip, the wave height is between 3-3.5m, the wind is only 23kts, gusting 30-35kts, the swell is minimal, so all very comfortably within limits. - they will work the boats up to 4m waves and 40kts winds, and fly choppers in 60kts wi ds and up to 6m waves.
I am aware that the Roll, Pitch and Heave also comes I to it on floaters, but given the weather today and the last couple of days I doubt that it would have affected operations very much, if at all.

YorshireLife, I wouldn't bother, you stick with UKOG and Angus Energy and you will do just fine :-)
