I generally approach these boards with some trepidation too: welcome! I’m also surprised that there aren’t more posts here given the run up in the SP and the fact that PGMs are currently such a hot topic.

The annual production pie chart on page 22 is interesting: looking at the price change for each metal gives a sense of where revenue could go for FY2020, ceteris paribus.

My understanding (from other kind posters to this BB) is that the SP dropped off a little before this current run up due to one large institution selling out as a result of redemptions from their fund.

Anyhow, I was lucky to buy in at 17.25p on this and now have an average of 24.5p having bought a little more today. It’s my biggest position.

You're right, Tiger. Frankly the graph's of the PGMs rather signal a bubble. Of course the underlying fundamentals for these metals is sound (especially since the uptake of purely electric, non-fossil fuel cars will happen more slowly than some may have imagined). I'm rather surprised that the SP hasn't rallied a bit more along with so much of the rest of the quality sector of the UK listings.
PGM prices seem to have become, errrrr....a little exuberant.

I am surprised at today's announcement that "GeoPark today announced that it intends to offer senior notes (the "Notes") in a private placement to qualified institutional buyers" and that "GeoPark intends to use the net proceeds of the Notes offering to finance the cash consideration payable by GeoPark Colombia to Scheme Shareholders".
I may be wrong, but is it that Geopark's funding for the transaction has yet to be secured?
I am sure the M&A buffs who may still be on this board can set me straight.

Hi Ragnar and Visitor. Thanks for the insightful posts. I suppose one could argue that when the share price had hit 45p late last year it had gone too far too fast so a pull-back was healthy. However, given that the PGM basket price continues to go gang-busters (pd 1,992USD today) and there doesn't seem to be any other adverse company news on the horizon (not that I'm aware of anyway), I'm surprised we haven't crept back to those sorts of levels. Perhaps Institutionals (besides the obvious Majedie) are keeping a lid on through sells, as you suggest. I would've thought that a healthy quarterly (Q2) report (end of Jan?) followed swiftly by interims might cause another bump up. ...or do the Institutionals know something we don't?

My buy at 3.611 pence for GBP10k at around 10am is shown as a sell.

I think a growth in dividend yield would seriously drive investor interest...which would, of course, reduce yield as the price rises. What an awful problem to have...

I wondered if anyone had information on this in the context of SLP, beyond what already has been shared in RNSs that is. Apart from this issue, I’m expecting quarterly results to be encouraging again.

I took the plunge and bought close to 500,000 shares in two tranches at about 10am for 20.22p and 20.20p and they haven’t been put up yet!

Best of luck, Mathurin. I will remember how reasonable and sensible you were when a number of posters were very abusive to you in respect of your estimate of take out price. Ultimately (sadly!), you were proven to be correct. I doubt the abusers apologised, but I remember who they are and will be steering clear of them, but not you, in future. Hope you clean up financially in 2020!
