RE: Excellent returns from GLR and expecting a great deal more!1 Jan 2021 14:18
Phoenix - My low average SP is mostly down to luck. At end of 2019 the markets were looking frothy so sold out of half of my assorted investments and sat on cash. Then the bottom fell out of the markets in March this year, and I reinvested in my top rated resource companies (of which GLR is one).
Im a strong believer in only investing in what I truly understand. As an Exploration Geologist I therefore only invest in resource companies. I aim to maintain a portfolio of very diverse types of mainly microcap resource companies, covering the full risk-reward spectrum. Below are two good examples at opposite ends of the spectrum, which I feel compliment GLR well.
1. NCCL - I believe this is the lowest risk 2-3 bag opportunity on AIM. So far off peoples radar its invisible. One of UKs top entrepreneurs has just built a 17% stake in the company and become a director. Plenty of big news expected in Q1 - the SP has only just started moving north. The armchair eco warriors will be aghast at investing in a coal power development project, but if they did their research they would learn that the new state-of-the-art exhaust scrubbers that will get installed, will produce lower emissions than their diesel cars - especially if VW or Mercedes :). Ive been invested in NCCL for approx three years, and the fireworks are only now about to fly!
2. PAT - A new entrant to AIM. I invested in early November soon after listing. As with all my companies of interest, I spend many hours studying all available geological data (public domain data and also other data that I can access through my own channels). PAT have a handful of high potential high risk-reward projects, all with plenty of news flow due during first half of this year. I think that PAT has 5-10 bag potential along with commensurate geopolitical risks - so not one for widows and orphans! Looks like some GGP / EUA investors are gravitating to PAT. Read the LSE PAT bb with caution - there are some good, honest, well researched posters on there, but also some exuberant pumpers!
I see you are in BMV - good choice and SP suppressed by funding uncertainty. Also KAT - I have no confidence in the management!
Apologies for the cross referencing of other companies on the excellent GLR bb - I was asked, and investing success comes through sharing knowledge! I rate GLR a very strong buy, and will top-up with EUA profits up to the 2.5p level (no sophisticated price models - just feels right for my portfolio).
Cheers
