Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Could they drill another hole nearby without having to RNS it? For example, if they needed to try again, or to confirm the size of whatever they may have found.
...could be Mr Grist! :D
Was that 16.26k this afternoon a buy too?
Haha, thanks for the laugh!
Would Kav be required to make an RNS announcement if there are delays with the drilling? If not, I'm thinking that is the most likely reason for the silence so far.
Thanks for clarifying that for everyone Maxwell77.
I've a fair position here too. The thing I'm most nervous about is how the market will react to what could be 'encouraging' rather than stellar news. I do believe there is something good in this target, it just might not be as spectacular as some hope. As for Ben's tweets, I wouldn't read that as him being cryptic - he gives the impression of being very bullish about the mining sector as a whole, as expressed in previous interviews/tweets.
I'm not enjoying the wait. My gut tells me these things rarely deliver but, similar to Jdough, the sheer weight of research and evidence is what compels me to trust in Kavango. The case for B1 is compelling.
The presenter said something about sending a video of it to Ben, so there might be a wait. Talking or waiting... I really hope we get a great RNS tomorrow rather than waiting all weekend ;) ATB
I read up on Brett Grist, and he does indeed appear to be a great appointment. Where did you find out about his expertise on the Great Red Spot? That's something I seem to have missed.
*peace
Yes, interesting to note the sp compared to when we thought news was imminent before Christmas. Greater caution from investors? Whatever happens, I'm holding. I agree with the narrative that even if this drill is disappointing, it will help inform future drilling. Also, it could be a while before the results from this drill are fully understood - but for piece of mind I hope we have good news this Friday or by Monday morning! ATB everyone.
Yes, I think this is still a great price to buy for new investors who understand the risk and are willing to take a punt. Not long to wait for news.
Sounds like the plan is for the current rig to go to the KCB next. I suspect they are considering whether or not to bring in a second that can drill deeper for the KSZ.
Agreed! Ben is really on it when being interviewed, and those last couple of minutes reveal there is a lot more news to come. Very exciting!
@Worzel7, well let's hope we have an economic discovery of nickel on our hands. I'm trying my best not to think about all the possible outcomes from this drill (and I'm failing... it's on my mind a lot!).
I think Legalwolf's post answers the hypothesis. Don't forget a lot of holders bought in at half the current price.
Thanks Keith & Metalhead! I'd wondered about the significance of cross-formational too. Couldn't hope for a much clearer explanation than this, makes perfect sense.
The real price movement will come in three weeks or so, when we know what the conductor is. Until then, it's simply a waiting game.
I thought it was very positive.
John Lauderdale: "We've turned the corner quite significantly in the last couple of months... hopefully this year it's going to be a whole raft of good news coming out." On B1: "It's so cross-formational it's got to be significant."
Ben Turney: "This year is going to be all about drilling. We're going to drill as many metres into our projects as we can, and that's our sole focus."
"This year's been brilliant... we're one week in... I'm really enjoying waking up in the morning, I can't remember the last time I felt this positive about anything."
What's not to like? All the best everyone!
Excellent posts Keith, and thanks to you & Fuku79 for answering my question from the other thread.
Considering how high the SP went in the week on no news (perhaps gambling on an immediate discovery), it's odd that great news causes the price to drop! But as you say, it's probably people not wanting their money tied up for another month (or traders attempting to skim little profits here and there).
I understand why some people have concerns over the POW relationship, it's not a company I would invest in, but I do think the above posts provide a strong rationale as to why it's a good thing to have some other projects brewing in-country while the boffins plan the next phase of KSZ exploration. If you haven't, I urge people to look at the team Kavango have assembled, and the experts involved. I do not see this as a fly-by-night operation. I personally think this was a great RNS, with that upgraded Siemens reading chipping away at the risk.
