stas - your last post is an interesting take and I can see how you get to that opinion. however i feel that the price does seem supported at 20p ish - touch wood. whilst i agree any bad news could plunge it lower i suspect we will hover here for a bit and then rise to 25p or more depending on sentiment and pump/dumps until an approval comes through.

there will be a spike on any approval - however whether it re-rates will depend very much on what colin does with it.

it is still a company with a very good portfolio - how we are here is baffling. however value may only be got by a change in leadership to someone who is more dynamic , with a sound active strategy

jh....i agree cost is a factor. However i suspect if you asked the british tax payer (who are ultimately paying for it) whether they would prefer better quality tests and at the same time support british companies and build a safe and secure diagnostic industry for the future or buy cheap questionable quality tests from china - i think we all could guess the answer to that

my suspicion is the calamity the alva fiddler will just try and ride it out. he is probably hoping the whole testing thing dies down and he gets out of the spotlight. if he actually gets an approval it will pile on the pressure to sell something...anything.
as soon as all the testing fuss dies down he can go back to waffling on about trying to sell tests to the chinese or africa....good luck with that strategy!

like you - i didn't believe he could screw up a gimme - a gov contract - and so stayed in - about half of what i originally had. so it is pretty grim.

he won't go and unfortunately too many shareholders keep defending him even though they must all be under water by now

oke - firstly we don't know what colin did in the first place to secure the gov contract. Was it just a case of picking up their call or did he do anything pro active himself? Having got the contract he should have known the criteria well enough that it did not elapse by 2 months before he realised. I understand the gov blame in this issue but Calamity has been incompetent.

the directors know him best and they sold out as soon as possible - tells you everything really

in any case odx should not have sat around doing nothing for months in expectations of the gov contract. they should have been out hustling and certainly got the eu/usa applications in earlier before the market was saturated.

sorry but waiting for your application form to come back with questions just sums odx up. you can see by the lack of proof reading on their recent Q&A that this is not a professionally run company

i was watching an interview today where the presenter said that these testing companies are making huge profits and taking advantage of the current situation. it did make me chuckle

fine if you want to keep defending the alva fiddler - but then do not be surprised if the SP gets burnt every day

If we do then it is not widespread testing. Never had it or known anyone who has.

to early t0 say about covid - but the hope is that as with many viruses the mutations will lead to more transmissible but milder variants. This would seem to be the case with omicron.

twatcher - the reality is that odx have nothing to lose. the gov contract has expired and if they have any sense they would avoid future business with gov unless paid in advance.
the more press there is - the more chance the subject is brought up in parliament - i think i read somewhere that someone might do it on wed?

the gov may possibly be shamed into some kind of action whether it be another contract or accelerating approvals....even if it goes pear shaped and approvals are held back on purpose out of spite - the eu approval would sort that out.

regardless of the outcome for odx et al...i still think the apparent lack of support by the gov for uk industry needs to be highlighted. people can then make their own mind up

Hasiba - if odx is shut until the 5th I think it is unlikely that we will get an RNs until then...can't see Colin putting in the extra mile.

Twatcher - I take your point on the newspapers. It is a pity that rather than regurgitating the same questions and copy n paste answers ... colin did not more filling details on test results and status. I really hope more bad news is not coming. I had assumed that it was all out and as bad as it was going to get

As for SP. I think it has done well over holidays. The recent speculation has recovered the notice of closure loss. I think the newspaper pressure should be good...whether enough for a gov reversal I don't know. One can but hope.

From my reading today I still can't get the feeling that it suited some people that UK diagnostics did not get off its feet. Some people have made a lot of money I am sure

this DAM talk is pure fantasy - we do not know if they are even making a profit - or how much.

ODX are a diagnostic company with next to no sales - no clue about retail. colon just wants to slink off into anonymity and draw a wage for selling a handful of tests without too much expectation or work.

fantasise about someone taking odx over as much as you like but odx won't be taking over anything themselves - not without any cash. the captain has spoken!..lol

gman - the market cap is certainly going in the direction where an acquisition could be a possibility. i poo pooed it at a much higher mcap but at £43m with approvals/gov machinery and new ceo - i would be very OK with that

mike - i would not sell odx at this time. We should get approvals at some stage and the SP will spike at least on these. Re-rate will depend on the "king" and whether he can put down the fiddle for long enough to run the company.
At the moment this share is wait and see for lth or as my new strategy in the new year will be trade the pumps

oke - whilst we have different views on odx - you normally have a not unreasonable argument. That post however is just desperate fantasy.
odx will need big contracts soon to pay the large workforce currently selling very little. they may have to raise cash just to purchase gov machinery or apply for self test approval in us. both of which would add considerable value and so a good move BUT they don't have a lot of cash. the company is worth £43m so any significant raise is going to massively dilute.

no indication of this buyout whatsoever and quite frankly would be a disaster. could you really see the colon king successfully running and expanding DAM?

No...the q&a said they can't use the gov equipment. I have always maintained that they will get it on the cheap...question is will they get the sales to warrant buying it ?
