I just said that if the products that are jointly developed ( implying the both companies contribute time and money to that process,) do well in Iceland stores then that gives opportunities.

If THG jointly develop the products then i would be dumfounded if they have no part ownership of those products

It complete speculation that this deal precludes THG from selling frozen anywhere else. I am sure that Iceland would be happy to sit behind the My Protein brand if the products they develop do well and can be marketed elsewhere.

The only reason to hold is for some sort of corporate event, governance is shocking.

If you don't believe that an event will happen, don't hold because after the next fiasco it will fall again.

The point for me is,

They have put forward their predictions
They gave a disappointing update.
The Attendees asked, how is trading since update, that would enable them to judge to some extent if the predictions are reasonable so far.
MM gives no comfort by updating on current trading.
Result IMO predictions not to be trusted.

Estee Lauder in their last update gave precise information on current trading after their last update so giving confidence to II’s that they were on top of their numbers and that they have a sound basis for making their predictions.

So IMO until Thursday there was a section of the city giving MM the benefit of the doubt after Thursday all minds are made up and I doubt any of the mainstream II’s will ever buy another share in THG whilst MM is at the helm.

The issues that drive this opinion are,

1. Coming to the meeting with the attendees expecting trading to be generally in line wit the last update clearly there should have been a warning some time previously. Included in that was the widely held impression that Whey wasn’t hedged.

2. There was an RNS informing the market that the divisions were now legally split, now any normal reading of that RNS would give rise to an expectation of some information on the state of play in each division, what do the numbers look like etc.
To fail to bring that information to the meeting not really forgivable. So what do i think, it is either the RNS was deliberately misleading ( big no no) or that the numbers are so poor he is hiding them. Whatever lies behind it it is a grave error IMO.

3. IMO it would be fairly normal to have a written commentary of post reporting period trading / market update. None was forthcoming and when asked MM ducked the question. The only conclusion to draw, is that trading since reporting period end has been at best mediocre perhaps leaning too poor. So the next update will likely miss expectations. How poor it is will be crucial to the forecasts put forward on cash flow and margin uplift etc.

So a bunch of II’s at the meeting will have to go back to their organisations and say they were wrong to give MM the benefit of the doubt, and as we have seen the retribution has been strong and in a couple of cases swift.

Including the change of valuation approach.

So IMO MM and THG are now a Pariah in the mainstream city.

So who is buying the share sales, IMO it will be those other city institutions that still believe that they can wrestle value out of provoking a sale of part or all of the company at higher prices than today or holding their stake until such time as MM can be removed and so provoke a different approach.

I believe that the good lord bought his shares based the the SOP valuation, I also think that the major shareholders also subscribe to that approach to valuation.

So that leaves me with my personal dilemma , i am down 47% after averaging down in the 50’s and 60’s and of course now have larger holding than is ideal.
I am in the camp of that Beauty is the jewel if it can be hived off without taking major overheads with it, so i too am SOP

I think we will see some type of corporate action sometime, but will the SP hold after IMO another poor update or can it hold at these levels.

I am going to hold for a few weeks to let the dust die down and see where we are.

But TBF MM has shown to all that he needs help running the business as a listed company, if he didn’t have a golden share i am sure that the good lord would be talking to major shareholder about repl

They have sold 104 million pounds worth of wise, they still hold 38.2 million pounds worth and invested 55.6 in total.

They probably will be behind the fall in wise it seems to be a very good investment for them.

But who knows only them.

So a research group has done a pice in Chyrs it shows holding as at August this year. It shows the total holdings in the fund.

The line for THG says.

THG 1.2% of portfolio, value 11.8 million, Cumulative sales 12 million, Amount Invested 63.3 million. this at 18th August 2022.

I suspect they have sold that 12 million pounds worth recently , perhaps when it rose during the bid or perhaps soon after.

Linked in - I remember reply from IR saying they couldn’t issue an RNS because the SP was down, but they do communicate through Social Media including Linked IN.

I thought it strange that they referenced Linked In, clearly they see it as a legitimate communication tool.

In Chapter 11 when the business continue whilst the debt issue is sorted, the debt is dealt with in the order of

- Secured creditors normally secured bondholders
- Unsecured creditors - unsecured bondholders , suppliers and so on
- Equity holders.

It is a waterfall approach, that is the secured creditors are FULLY paid before Unsecured
then its Unsecured who again are FULLY paid

There is normally nothing left for Equity holders, then what happens is the bondholders that have been fully paid, buy out the equity and the business goes on, with the bondholders as at the new equity owners.

Existing Equity holders are wiped out.

That is what’s going to happen here IMO
